Oil Pressure

I just installed a guage pod and the water temperature guage seems to be right on the money but the oil pressure guage is reading too high . What pressure should I get on a V6 either cold or warm???

I'd say 20-50psi would be about right.

At idle it is around 25psi , cold 100psi and warm running around 75psi . It seemed to be high but it has been consistant .Thanks Des

Sounds like something's wrong to me, it shouldn't hit 100psi, and the pressure should not vary by 50psi. What was your factory guage reading? Sounds like the new one is out of calibration.

I thought that the guage was off when I first put it in and just recently found this as a reference http://www.miracerros.com/mustang/2000_specs.html it is for a 2000 v6 but should still be applicable . I was quite surprised to see the numbers . Have a look
Thanks Des

Well, judging by that, you're right on the money, sorry for the misinformation, I'm used to V8s. That pressure still seems kinda high and erratic to me, oh well.

I was in the same frame of mind and I'm still rather surprised that the pressure is that high but until I see someone else with a six to compare i'll go by the information on the web . Thanks Des
