WESTERN area MUSTANG Events??

So guys are there any weekend Mustang or all make events around Western Canada to where a fella could do a road trip ??
I know there is the International in Winnipeg the Labor Day weekend..anyone going from out west??
Are there any other major shows maybe with road or auto cross events??

Kojak

ChadStang 11-30-2011 10:19 PM

I think there is a big Mustang event in Red Deer every few years. Someone else may know more.

SNAKEBITE 12-01-2011 05:36 PM

I will try and make it to the Peg this year and closer to spring there may be a list somewhere

Snakebite if you decide to go to thePeg, give me a heads up and we can convoy out if you like. Do a stop over here if it suits your plans and then head onto the Peg.

Absolutely.. if anyone in Alberta has any Shows & or Road Events they know of in 2012 ...would love to do a road trip.

Thanks Ronnie that was what I was afraid of...there are no other activities besides basically a car show. No Drags..no road course...pretty boring after Spokane...
Well thanks anyway...I am going to opt for going to Sturgis..it is only a few hours further...a nicer drive..Custers Stand & the Mt Rushmore stuff..and there is a 10 mile windy road called .."Iron Mountain Road" a 16 mile windy twisty roadway like nothing you have experienced..takes about 40-50 minutes and then you are pushing it..... and in addition at the show there is a heck of a lot more things to participate in..

I wonder if the bunch of us in Western Canada couldn't put on something like Sturgis..in a smaller way..get events like a drag strip..road course..pony rodeo..launch box...besides a Show & Shine..
There has to be a place in Alberta or Sask. that has the facilities...any ideas??

Keep us up to date Ronnie

Bullittmustang 12-05-2011 12:25 PM

megaford weekend in Mission BC is 2 days of ford drag racing with a car show on the sunday. its the weekend after labour day

SNAKEBITE 12-05-2011 04:39 PM

^^same as the International unfortunately

BBYE 12-05-2011 04:49 PM

Shows

Yep..Sturgis.this one...the International..all at the same time..too bad they didn't try to split up the dates more:mad:

SNAKEBITE 12-06-2011 05:30 PM

that would be nice

Bullittmustang 12-07-2011 11:23 AM

international has been on labour day weekend for 32 years....its only in winnipeg every 12 or 14 years...the next two afterwards are bozemon montana and vancouver BC

BBYE 12-07-2011 11:35 AM

International

Those next two locations sound inviting.
I only hope they realize that a lot of folks, perhaps not all, that drive a long distance want to do something more than sit around at a show & shine with their Mustangs.
I know there are different ..shall we say "Camps"..some of the older cars are not set up for road course..drags..launch box..rodeo..tire change...even poker runs...but there are getting to be more and more newer cars that are.
It would be an option I would have available for an International If I were to organize one.

Just a thought

Alberta

Anyone interesetd in a meet in Alberta?

BBYE 12-07-2011 03:43 PM

Road trip

Personally, if there is some organization with a little lead time it would be great to get these cars out for meets withing reasonable distances over a weekend.
I would be game if the intent was to get out of towners to come for a little weekend fun. Alberta is so central you could get some interest from both sides of the province.
I did a mini one for Challengers last year and had 11 cars show up for a fun weeken, with BBQ..Scavenger hunt..meet and greet and tied it into a local Show & Shine..everyone said they really enjoyed the little mini event.

If it was just a daily meet I am sure there are lots of locals who would attend. Give it a shot!:tup

SNAKEBITE 12-07-2011 04:57 PM

I am game if in town, not much of a drive lol

Bullittmustang 12-08-2011 02:10 AM

not every city has a drag strip close to the show site...when the international is in vancouver in 2014 there wont be any drag racing as the track is used for other events that weekend..there might be a friday night street legal drags though from 5pm till 10pm but with the kegger party at the hotel friday night and the car show saturday morning dont think many will drive an hour plus each way from the show site to the drag strip in mission.

BBYE 12-08-2011 08:06 AM

Internationa Van

Oh well, guess there will be othere events to go to. There again maybe the Vancouver crew will put some other interesting things together for additional draw/fun...autocross.tire change..launch box..rodeo...slow drags..etc

DublDee 12-08-2011 08:12 AM

I would be interested in an Alberta meet, and if try to make as central as possible for all wester stangs, maybe we could attract some of the members from as far as Sak/MB to BC. Lemme Know, I'll be there with the new mistress.:tup

Cute!...I did it for the Challenger SRT8 group in S'toon last year and it was a blast...if any one needs ideas ...like the song says.."Call Me"..
I will attend for sure...
Kojak & BBYE :chacha:

DublDee 12-08-2011 11:16 AM

I think we need to first figure out the where and when, and then get a local member to organize it. I could set something up in Lloyd, I'm sure, but don't know if we would get a proper turn out here. I was thinking sometime in June or July in either Edmonton or Red Deer.....What does everybody think about that?:?

BBYE 12-08-2011 11:23 AM

meet

June is a good dte as no bugs yet for travel...not too far for lots of the Major center...sort of in the middle...I'm up for any june date..
Kojak:D

SNAKEBITE 12-08-2011 02:37 PM

I would gladly do the Red Deer thing or even lloyd for that matter

ChadStang 12-08-2011 03:05 PM

I hope to make it to a few shows this summer but it just never seems to work out. Not sure about driving my car too far with 4.10's and an off road pipe either

SNAKEBITE 12-09-2011 05:15 PM

ah come on man, if I go you had better lol

Yeah I'm gonna try. It would be cool to try and get the majority of our Alberta members all to a show. I heard there is a good one in Slave Lake.

Do you have any idea how from Slave Lake is from Civilization as we know it..???..ohhh yes you live there..opps..LOL:D

But like was mentioned, LLoyd or the like is sort of central for Edmnt..Calgary..Red Deer...S'toon...and still not too far for Slave Lake..Lethbridge.....Regina...Moose Jaw....just a thought.
It would be a fun Western Prairies Event!!

I've been to Fort Mac four times in the last two months, to meet with a customer, and honestly that was four times too many! I hate that place, and the traffic is absolutely retarded:banghead:

SNAKEBITE 12-12-2011 02:02 AM

I have not been since the last century

DublDee 12-12-2011 07:59 AM

It was probably a nice place at that time...not anymore!

SNAKEBITE 12-12-2011 04:18 PM

I will stay away then, thanks for the heads up lol
