Next balance is Wed. I really expect Ford to step up and fix this problem doing whatever it takes. I'm disappointed that it's taken so long to really get nowhere.

Third balance done today and the car still shakes at any speed over 90kph. I guess I can just get used to driving at 80kph. Anyway, spoke to the tech at length and he said he took it for a test drive and he absolutely agrees that it shakes but that the tires balance out to spec. He did say that it looks like they might have flat spots that aren't showing on the Hunter unit. Next step is up to Ford but I think we need to swap tires/rims.

The saga continues. Sure hope nobody here has to go through this crap with their new car. Shoulda bought that used Corvette I was looking at.

^^ Oh no, I don't like reading that at all. I really hope Ford gets you straightened out. You should be enjoying that new Mustang, not stressing out over it. I've got my fingers crossed for ya Pal. :tup

That sucks, with the age and mileage this should be a no brainer and I can't see why they won't make it right. Don't let them drag their feet on it though as it doesn't take weeks to make a decision.

It's discouraging how long it's taking Ford to fix what seems to be a simple problem. If I went to the tire store and bought a set of tires that couldn't be balanced then I'm sure they would be replaced the same day, no problem. Ford must have millions of tires kicking around and I would think it would be cheaper in the long run to just replace them rather than all the screwing around they are doing with multiple balances.

Not to mention that I'm starting to regret buying a Ford.

i am having a problem with my 12 convertible and pirellis , they are cracking between the treads which i am being told by my mechanic that this is common. these are supposedly under warranty but i am awaiting a decision. i have been told by three different mechanics that this is an issue for safety and in fact the car shouldn't have passed safety , which it did. i will let you know how this works out , unfortunately it seems the pirellis have issues . my problem is that even if they replace the tires i am still stuck with inferior tires i'll have to replace again in a year and a half. this is a little annoying . i would think ford would have the clout to deal with this , bad tires are bad tires.

I'm still going round and round on this. Having the tires/wheels swapped with a known set of good ones on Wed. so we'll see how that works out.

dryates97, how many miles do you have on your tires?

dryates97 Mar 3, 2013 07:26 PM

18000 km

Gotta say that I'm seriously disappointed in Ford corporates response to this problem. Seems to be an issue over replacing tires because I didn't buy the car from the local dealership. I'm just a little annoyed with the bullshit.

Again I'm a year late but have you gotten your tire issue resolved and has anybody looked into the chance the either the tires were already out of date when you purchased the car or is there a chance that you could have a belt seperating in the tire
