Weld Draglites, My experience (fox body)

Just thought I would share my experience putting Weld draglites on a fox body. not sure if this already common knowledge?

purchased a used set of 15x7 draglites. came off a 1989 GT. installed them on my car and drove it for a day. when doing hard turns or reversing with the steering cranked it sounded like there was some contact? removed the fronts and found a groove cut in the back of the wheels. so I did some research. I guess running skinnies are not an issue. but when you go wider (like my 7's) you will get contact with the brake caliper bolt. this will only happen if you have new pads installed (which my car does). had to install 1/4" spacers on the front and had no issues since. just an FYI for everyone.

pic is of the car after the spacers and all is good except for the sagging back springs. have a new pair ready to be installed.

I agree, I've never heard of the interference issues though.

thanx.

I agree the draglites were made for the fox body.

I found a few other people on line had the same issue. most cases the person was already running the wheels and had the clearance issue when the day came to install new pads.

Usually people aren't putting 7" on the front with that type of wheel, generally skinnies as mentioned.

cheers
