$1800 for 18" snows all around on steelies, and of course I have to have the air pressure sensors installed on the rims. This from the dealer and my first quote. Any thoughts? Is this an insane quote?

^^ You dont need the pressure sensors, you can go without if you don't mind having the light on on your dash. As for the price, maybe it would be cheeper if you get a 17" rim? And I'm sure a tire shop could do it cheeper than a steeler!

17" steel will not clear the 11-up GT, they are a bit larger than the 05-10 GT brakes. There are some aftermarket alloy wheels that will clear, but they are a tight fit ... we did a set of 17" Fastco wheels on a customer's 11 GT last year. For what you could potentially save on 17" tires compared to 18", might make up for a lot of the upcharge on alloy vs. steel wheels ... and the car won't look like *** with black steelies on it for 5 months. Just make sure that you get something that is a plain painted wheel, no chrome or polished finish on it.

The TPMS sensors are not required as mentioned, but you will get the fault light coming on.

cheers

I'm going to put winters on my rims and buy new rims later when I can afford it for the winters or all seasons. Reason is the pic from 820kgm3 in the follwing thread. yuck.

so I went with tires from the dealer which didn't price our too bad compared to others. Michelin X-ICE Xi3 235/50R18. Going put them on my factory wheels and buy the following from American Muscle come time to put my all seasons back on.

Anthracite Bullitt Mustang Wheel - 18x8 (05-13 All) at AmericanMuscle.com 28315G05||28315 - Free Shipping!

Any feed back on either of these two products?

Here is a photo of the tires that I went with.
Pirelli Winter Sottozero Serie II, 255/40 VR19.
They feel good on the ice and snow so far.
