Can't go wrong with Bridgestone Blizzaks or Michelin X-Ice, I've used both, they're pretty much the same, good call on the black steelies, they'll pay for themselves in no time.

+1...I'm partial to the Blizzaks myself. If you get big snow, try the WS series (60, 70, or 80). If a lot of snow isn't the problem, the LM series, or the Michelin X-Ice may serve you better. All good tires.
