Ac delete pulley

Has anyone done an ac delete kit for there mustang? I have been thinking about doing one. The ford racing kit is about $45 and might free up a few ponies but I was mainly thinking about the weight saving of removing my entire air conditioning system , lines and all. I am driving convertible so whenever I need ac the top is down usually anyways and I figured $50 and a few hrs of work might be a decent upgrade ? Any thoughts or has anyone down this mod before ?

One downfall to consider is resale. If you ever decide to sell you might limit your potential buyers. The weight savings wouldn't really be worth it in my opinion. If you drove around with 1/2 tank of fuel instead of full you would save more weight.

I agree with ChadStang, unless you do plan on keeping the car forever.

Well i have owned the car for about 6.5 yrs now and i still plan to drop another 20-25k into it to finish it so if i ever do decide to sell it i am going to loose a ridiculous amount anyways.I just bought a new daily driver two weeks ago and i dont ever see myself selling the stang.Even with my new car i still wish i was driving the mustang right now

^^^ That a boy. Keep that stang where it belongs. In you're garage. Finish it. I would say keep the A/C though. One rain storm on a hot and smoggy day and you'll be happy you kept it. If you plan on making it a track car then rip that $h!# out.
