I used K&N on my 2000 GT, 2001 Lightning, and 2004 Cobra and liked them. I prefer the plastic ones over metal. In my opinion they would stay cooler than metal and they look closer to stock. I used a Ford Racing one on my current car which was plastic as well.

C&L is definately the way to go. A little more money, but also a lot more bang.

I would agree. C&L racer with SCT tuner. It is reported to give the most HP gains.

I say JLT.It's made out of PVC,so it doesn't heat soak like the metal types, and it's not thin plastic like the airaid,or K&N versions.
The 4.6 2V doesn't respond well to the cold air intakes, but the JLT have been pretty good to many out there that use them.

The other thing to remember is which intake you want and does it need tuning. Some like the C&L racer has a 95 mm MAF housing and requires a tune. The Roush and AIRADE are identical and made by the same company and don't require a tune as long as you install the supplied Modular Venturi Tube. BBK, although a nice intake is not the best. K&N does not require a tune either. Fast Fords magazine did a CAI shootout about a year ago and the WMS and C&L Race intakes came out on top for a mildly modified S197 and the C&L had the best (ever so slightly) HP gains over WMS tuned. Another popular intake is the JLT. I am not sure if it requires a tune or not. Whichever CAI you decide on, I would purchase it from American Muscle or one of the many reputable tuners like Brenspeed...ect., AM have tuning for life as long as you purchase from them. I currently have there C&L Racer and SCT tuner and love the combo. I have data logged my car and sent the data back to AM and they have revised my tunes and my car runs amazingly. I was supplied with an SCT tuner loaded with 87 performance, 91 performance and 91 Race octane tunes. So far I have only ran the 87 and it is an amazing tune. I can't wait to try the 91 Race at the track.

Caio
