Lowering car questions
Lowering car questions
Folks .. have a set of Steeda lowering springs that will bring down my Vert about 1.5". Now I was going to replace the stocks shocks with new stock shocks (cause they are due)... but now I am hearing that Fox shocks/struts will work better in my case .... is it true ? Anyone know ..
Apparently they are shorter in length elilminating the possibilty of them bottoming out .... and allowing for the travel that I need .... anyone know ?
thanks
Ralph

With the 1.5" drop, the proper struts made for the SN95,and new edge stangs are fine.Any lower i would say go with ones made for foxbodies.
As for the rear shocks, from what i have read threw the interweb, the rear shocks remain unchanged in design to compensate the differense in ride heights.

Make sence with the rear ones .. they are the exact same price !
The front is much cheaper though (about 30$ CAD ) for each .... I'm suppose to talk to this guy they referred me at the dealer who EATS mustangs for breakfast .... see what he says about it ...
All the threads I've read I've seen that I can go either way ... so still not sure .
Thanks

Well seeing that my GT is slammed, and i have done all the research back in '03 when i lowered my GT,i can tell you that the '94 to '04 struts will take some punishment if you plan to slam your stang. The struts are designed with a longer strut shaft for the SN95 chassis. The foxbody struts have a shorter strut shaft which will allow more movement for lower than 2 inches of drop on a '94 to '04 mustang, but for those that are 1.5" drop have had no issues with bottoming out like those that have more then 2 inches in drop.
Anybody that i know threw clubs,or interweb that have the 1.5" drop stuck with struts that are designed for the '94 to '04 mustang, and have had no issues to date.

I suppose now the question is .. will it matter any if I get the Fox ones ? The price is lower at the dealer (with my price
) I get them for 94$(fox) instead of 122$(sn95) Fronts.... rears there is no diff. in price.
At the end of the day it's 60$ ... I figure it's the spring insulators/isolators I will need to get also.
hey, better in my pocket than someone else's I say
thanks for letting me know .
