Go whipple Gen 2 with a custom tune and you won't have any issues. Many Kenne Belle snouts leak after awhile. Thumper racing on s197.com sells a snout brace to overcome the flex and leaking problems if you want a Kenne Bell. They are cheaper but if you want reliable to Whipple. Or call JDM in the states and talk to them. Most experience with installs of all kinds of blowers on 05+ stangs in the Northeast US.

Roushcharger? That's the weakest, tamest blower available. Waste of money.

The whipple and KB are both twin screw superchargers, not roots.

The Whipple kits produced by Ford Racing are more expensive that the KB kit, but they also include a GT500 fuel system which is far better than the Boost-a-pump system included in the KB kits. I also believe the whipple blower has a better track record of trouble free service. The KB does have the advantage of more displacement though.

Do take the earlier advice of building the bottom of the engine so it can safely handle 500+ hp without rolling the dice. The S197 block is good but the rods are suspect, there have been more than a few pictures of 4.6 3V engines adorned by protruding rod holes in the side of the block.

Forge up the crank rods and pistons to be safe and make sure you use the proper pistons for a SC application.

I agree - I think that the whipple kit is superior to the KB. Price may look a bit higher on the whipple, but it is a more complete kit. You get everything you need in the kit including the spark plugs and a proper fuel system upgrade. The KB uses the boost-a-pump to keep their prices down instead of giving you a proper fuel pump for the fuel system. If you really get the bug and decide to forge the internals and raise the boost then the boost-a-pump will not keep up and you will have to get a real fuel pump.

The whipple install is also a slightly easier install and their customer support blows the KB customer support out of the water.
