There is a reason behind the vibration and noise.

-To be at one with the Mustang (grasshopper!) seriously..To be able to truely feel your Mustang and what it is doing so you can react accordingly! This comes through noise and vibration.

Or you can chuck in some rubber bushings! that usually fixes any additional road noise /trans vib.

There's some truth to this.. its the NEW noises and vibrations that you have to be aware of.

This is one thing that I found, on my 87 I had a Pro 5.0, when I put one on my 89 It was a lot louder. I ended up finding that my mounts had a lot of play in them. I replaced my motor and tranny mounts and it shut it up quite a bit.

Hope it helps

i bought a gasket from here http://www.shiftergaskets.cjb.net/ when i bought my tri-ax. not noisy at all, and i found the rubber keeps the heat off it too. good buy!

I've recently installed a B&M Pro Ripper.. and aside from a much cleaner shifts, I haven't noticed any difference in sound... though I do like the firm clicking of the stop bolts!
