ignition timing?

ignition timing?

does anyone know the timing on a 87 lx notch 5.0 ho ? i have no books or resources at my fingers. mostly im lazy. :laughhard

Basic timing is 10° BTDC

ideal timing is 12-13° maybe more if you don t hear pinging , with premium fuel

some cars will take upto 16* without a ping

i'm at 15* stock motor. no problems.

The car has been at 15* for atleast 5 years.

give it a try but make sure you now what pinging sounds like, also you must run min of 94 octane fuel

thanks fun. i definatealy know what pining sounds like.........i used to own a 69 mach 1 with a 302 boss in it. i did all the wrenchin as i dont trust mechanics as i used to be one before all the fuel injection craze. i have a good idea what i want to do to it but its best to go with stuff thats proven tried and true, thats why im here.any suggestions are welcomed and takin in thanks and im runin supreme fuel in my stang
