I have the original Ford window sticker for my 89 GT and it says Cobra on it.
In those years only the Canadian GT's were considered by Ford to be Cobra's.
That looks like a really nice GT. I would want a list of the motor specs and a close inspection of the paint. I would also want to carefully inspect for the body being twisted because of the lack of rigidity from the T tops.
Whether it is worth $13k is up to you. If it is a great quality car you could not build it for that money.
A good quality engine is worth ~$6k
plus ~$4k for a good paint job
plus ~$1.5k for wheels and tires
plus all the other things
It quickly adds up.

Sorry, my mistake, I thought you said it was Cobra. Must be the rum in my coffee I don't think I would personally pay that much for that old of a car. $13,000 here would get you an '04 gt for sure, and I have seen a couple '05 gt's in Edm in that same price range. Guess it all depends on what your looking for.

I don't know anything about this car. I don't know the mileage, condition of the engine, mechanicals, brake upgrades, transmission, paint or interior. I don't know if the car gives the OP wet dreams. The owner could have $2k into it or $20k and without an in person inspection everything about value is speculation.
On another forum there were guys adamant that a 1970 Boss 429 project was not worth even $5k. Every one has opinions but value is set by the person who pays the money.

From the look of it, it's clean and well kept. I would definately take it to a shop like Da Silva, to inspect it and put it on the dyno to see what the "306" is putting down before I drop 12 or 13 grand. Pull up the carpet on the drivers floor and look under the cowl into the firewall or look from the inner wheel fenders.
If I had to make a decision curb side from the looks, I would pay 8500 no problem since it's a T-top car with AC, pw, etc.

Well,
As pretty as it looks...I agree you need to get the car checked out..I paid 13 for my 04 and I went over it with a fine toothed comb...at minimum I'd take it to a local Ford Dealer if you don't have a mechanic you trust
