Well what my sales guy told me is that he worked in the GM factory for 12 years and they changed their personal vehicle oils at 1000-1200 km then at the proper intervals after that. He said the factories are very dirty and to get shavings and crap out of the engine. I am thinking that has some truth to it, but he knew i wouldn't be going there for an oil change as it is 6 hours from where i live so not sure.

Take it with a grain of salt i guess?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I have always changed it in the spring, and again in the fall, when it gets parked. All I have ever used is full synthetic Motorcraft or Mobil1.
