My vintage is my 1965 2+2. I bought it 19 1/2 years ago as a finished car. It was restored in 1986 so that is now 25 years ago.

I have this irresistible urge to tinker so I have done a lot of work to it.

When I bought it it had a 1966 289 in it with a Ford 4V intake and a crappy Holley, a BW T10 4 speed and 3.25 open axle.

It now has a bunch of vintage performance stuff on it. 1990 5.0 with a B303, a Cobra hirise intake, Cobra T pan oil pan, Ford dual point distributor, hidden MSD 6AL digital box, Pertronix II, a K code alternator underdrive pulley, vintage clutch fan and radiator shroud, ceramic coated tri-y headers with all stainless dual exhaust including the Dynamax mufflers, 9 inch with a locker and 3.50 gears, Tremec TKO 600 5 speed, Lakewood scattershield, Centerfroce clutch, Street or Track adjustable strut rods, es, OpenTracker roller spring perches, 2003 Mustang GT leather seats, Ray Brown 4 inch racing belts, aluminum driveshaft, vintage 60's Cragar G/T wheels.

 

Yes I have a 1967 Fastback that I've owned for many years. It has it's share of upgrades. With these old cars, there is always something that you can do to make them better.

 

Here is mine, 65 2+2 was a 6 banger with a 3pd man.
Now has a 351w mated to a 5spd. 4 wheel disc brakes.
I have owed the car for 17 years. Been finished for about 7 years gotta love these old Gals!!!!!

 

^^^^^ Do you have drop motor mounts to get the 351 in the 65/66 style? What intake do you have?

 

Not normally a fan of green cars, but damn kwkenf, that's one good looking machine and some great pictures. You other guys ain't doin' so shabby either - nice.

 

I always said I would get an old one but I never have. One day maybe. Congrats to the owners of the vintage cars

You don't need to use drop mounts. Stock mounts work fine.

You have to be careful with the intake or you will need some form of raised hood, dropped base air cleaner or a combination of all of them. The easiest solution is to use a low riser aluminum intake.

You can use the stock log manifolds but they suck. You really, really want to use headers designed for this application.

 

Stock mounts, I am using old school weiland low rise single plane intake with a 1" spacer.
The headers are from Headman for this application. I have a water pump from a 289 that allowed me to use a 65/66 rad and hoses.
