Congratulations on the great looking first and second generation cars. Well, I was going to wait for the repaint in the spring but if there are only 3 vintage owner replies... I'll throw mine in too. I guess I'm the latest of the vintage owners so far with a 4th generation '73 351 CJ 4-speed convertible. Lots to do to it but its a lot of fun.

That's a beautiful looking car.

You said earlier that it was loaded with options. What options does it have?

72 mach1 11-25-2010 06:55 PM

Thanks pprince. Yes the car was well optioned from the factory. It has just about everything I would have ordered on a convertible in 1973 except power windows and I can live without that. The highlights are:
Side stripes, NASA scoop hood, 3.50 track-lok, Instrumentation group, decor group, Rim-blow steering wheel, aluminum wheels, racing mirrors and because it is a CJ 4 speed car it came with competition suspension.
I like that it originally had all the extras of a Mach1 on a convertible.

That is a really nicely equipped CJ. That would have been a very expensive car when new.

It really is a Mach I convertible.

SNAKEBITE 11-25-2010 07:34 PM

What would that be priced at new. I know my dad bought a 72 Ranch Wagon that ran 5000.00 and it was a stripper by todays standard.

pprince 11-25-2010 08:10 PM

My swag would be that that car would have been in the vicinity of $5,000 - $5,500 new
