Need Everybody's Opinion Please.

Ok, I have an oppurtunity to trade my GT for a 2012 Boss 302 with less than 400 kms on it, and I would love to own, what I think will be an iconic piece of Muscle Car history, but then again I will be giving up some comfort features that I'm not sure I want to part with. The thing is I am definitely not going to be taking the car to the track anytime soon, but it's appealing to me have a car that is numbered, and possibly very collectable. On the other hand it's going to cost me about $13,500 difference to make the trade and knowing that if I stuck half of that into my GT I would have a far better car, and not lose any features! Sooooo, my question to all of you is.....Should I trade my '12 GT for the '12 Boss 302, or should I stick with what I have? Here's pics of the actual car, and my car, for comparison purposes.

Life is short, so do what will make you happy:tup

It's really up to you. I know what the answer would be for me. No way, i rather build my own car.
I think the 2012 Boss 302 is a sick car, but i myself am happy with what i got.... a car that owes me nothing, and is mine. That my friend you can't put a price tag on. LOL!

keep the Blue!!!!!

VE6SDW 04-24-2013 10:47 PM

Stick with the blue one. Remember it is a part of you. If you feel you need a change, change the blue one, don't trade it.
Just my 2cents.

If it was me I would put some cash into the GT! I like your GT she looks really good!!!

Trade up dude, don't get hung up on any kind of emotional attachment to a car fer god's sake, that's just ridiculous. There's a million GT's out there, and you can get one any day of the week, and they're all the same as yours. The Boss is only going to be around for so long, obviously you're interested, otherwise you wouldn't be posting this. I'll bet six months after driving the Boss you won't even remember about what you lost on the GT - and if you do, you won't care every time you open up that exhaust and let it rip. If you sunk all that money into the GT, it would still be just a GT, and probably not worth much more than if you left it stock. Go for it dude, you could die tomorrow. I'd drop a GT for a Boss in no time, with no tears, and no looking back. Good luck, keep the updates coming.

Seeing that he hasn't posted yet, he must be doing some wheelin, and dealin!! LOL!

Well I've struggled with this decision, and I really appreciate everybody's input, and advice. I guess there's always going to be Pros and Cons to every car comparison, Soooo here's my new car!

DublDee 04-25-2013 09:19 PM

^^ Yeah right! Not in this lifetime. I actually decided to stick with my GT. It's not that I'm emotionally attached to it (that much), but honestly, I'm not ready to part with it. Maybe in a couple years, if I'm real lucky I will be able to find a nice used '13 Grabber Blue GT500....Then I'll be ready! :D

What a sick joke to play. I thought you'd gone off the deep end lol.

DublDee 04-26-2013 07:05 AM

HaHaha, Yeah I think my family would have me checked out by a head doctor if that happened. :D

Apocalypse Pony 04-26-2013 10:18 AM

Wife wouldn't let you get the Boss huh? Too bad.

OH8GT 04-26-2013 12:26 PM

Everyone has an opinion but at the end of the day your opinion is the only one that matters. If you feel it's the right one then it is.

If you're a car collector and treat it as an investment then get the Boss, never drive it and sell it years down the road but I don't think you are.

As for me? I traded my '05 hard top in for my current '08 vert. So in my case there was a functional aspect to the trade in. It's also fully loaded and when I made the deal it was the same price as I paid for the '05 - just had to pay for the depreciation of three years.

I've had opportunities to trade this one in but I'm keeping it. I've got some mods in it now making it unique for me (i.e. Number 1 of 1) so I agree with your decision to keep it. Make it "yours". You can do quite a bit with thirteen grand!

oops I am late and agree with AP, I always try and get a top dog of whatever I am buying

No she was ok with either option, and she was pretty surprised when I said I was having second thoughts about it, but honestly what you get with the Boss isn't worth it imo. Lets face it, the manufacturers use these "Special, Limited, Numbered Edition" cars as a gimmick for those of us that lived through part of the muscle car era, or at least drove the original muscle cars, to entice us to purchase a car under the total misconception that these cars will be as collectable as the originals. Well sorry to break it to you all, but those days are over and they're never coming back. Yeah sure that Boss might be worth more in the end, but unfortunately by the time it's depreciation stage is over, I'll be long gone, so what's the benefit. Too add to that, I would hate to have a Boss 302 and get my azz handed to me by a guy with a lightly modded GT...Instead I'll be the guy with the lightly modded GT. :D

Make up your mind would yah ? lol

DublDee 04-27-2013 08:38 AM

Me Make up my mind? Never! Just kidding, I did make up my mind, and that's the final analysis I came up with. So for the next year or so I'll happily drive the GT, and then be on the lookout for '13 or newer GT500....Hopefully in GB. :P

Apocalypse Pony 04-27-2013 05:03 PM

ha ha ha Right on. I'd say that 650hp '13 GT500 would be worth the trade, with the Boss you're only getting another 40hp or so.
