Buyers today don't give a about classic mustangs, as most people buying new ones weren't alive, or even aware of the other mustangs when they were around.

Stop trying to be a muscle car, because their are no more muscle cars. The last muscle cars rolled off the line in the early 80's, now it's just cheap imitations to play on nostalgia
I really don't think you can call anything from the 80's a muscle car.

Hell, even the Ecoboost base Mustang makes 300hp, that was my 2006 GT's numbers, and that was scary fast.

OK, thats all I had to say.
Nailed it

Even to say Ford has been "trying" to capture the classic lines is a bit of a head scratcher. I feel they have done a great job with this even though they have gone in the s550 direction. You still see it and its working for all buyers new and old. The fact they out sell the competition year after year is proof.

A lot of people weren't happy when the refresh came in 2010 as they moved away from the retro look. The new design from looks nothing like any Mustang from the past but the rear definitely has that 67-68 feel for sure. There have been many mixed reviews and many raving about it. I will say that's it's brought new buyers to the brand that would never have owned a prior Mustang or even Ford.

Being very partial to the 05-09 style ittook a while for the 10+ style to grow on me. I like the 15+ cars, especially that back end but I do find some of them just look too plain for a GT depending on what wheels and colour they are.

Mach 1 return rumours have swirled forever. I'd be curious to see what if anything it actually becomes.

Same can be said about any Mustang really, Stock 18inch wheels don't look good IMO and yeah some colours just don't pop. I think every Mustang GT should come with the performance Pack standard

Agreed. Those standard wheels just don't do it. Previous generations have better basic rims for sure.

Sat in a black on black GT/CS a while back with performance pack. Crazy nice car and super sinister looking.

I don't coin the term muscle car, and I didn't define it. All that work is already done for me.

Today, you have a number of domestics available with well over 500hp, right off the showroom floor, how is that not a muscle car?

Styling has been updated, and I think its a great tribute to those old classics to have some of the iconic styling cues get a modern refresh. When the retro S197 platform was introduced in 2005, it turned me into a Mustang fan.

I'm not discounting the classics, but I flat out think you're wrong in saying there are no muscle cars anymore, prices have changed for sure, but it was always that way.
Horsepower does not a muscle car make. I shouldn't need to explain this to you, as you already know this. I understand that you are partial to the newer, being that you bought into that style - however the classics are the classics for a reason.

That you somehow think 250HP in the 80's is low is beyond me, 250HP is a TON of power, more than you ever need on the street, then or now. To suggest that the 80's was just decals is just flat out insulting. I get that you're into fuel injection and computerized auto trannys and all that, but really now A 4V HO 305 5 Speed with traction loc is just stickers ? That's just plain ignorant.

It's not about the horsepower numbers or stats on paper, it's about how they drive. I get to drive my car, a computer drives yours. There is a difference.

So you were saying how you wish Ford would stop trying to relive the muscle car era and move in a different and newer direction but you would rather drive a car from the 80"s or earlier? What do you want a new tech and much more reliable, comfortable, better handling and performing car with all the comforts today's consumer wants. Or a old, unreliable, hard to get parts for, bad on gas, and poorly designed car from the 80's?
