Awesome!!! Sounds very good.

If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living that you can throw this much money into a brand new car?
|
No wife and no kids = lots of disposable income. lol Budget for hookers and blow, and life is good for buying toys. I'm guessing here.
|
:tup Sounds like a monster.

How do you not worry about voiding warranty?
I would love to do a full setup but don't want to void warranty.... so either I have to wait 5 years or put on a crap load of km's in a hurry to get past the warranty to start modding. |

And exhaust upgrades are nothing too major. As far as warranty goes they are worried about tunes I'd think.
|
Also he still has the cats in there I believe so really no biggy, if he had pulled the cats and done headers it would be a much bigger warranty no no.

Sometimes it depends on the dealership, and your relationship with them.
I am going to have to talk to the service guys as i talked to the parts counter guys and they told me anything before the cats and warranty is totally voided. |

Soon to be my suspension. Engine / Powertrain is still valid at this point :) If the source of failure is due to exhaust (is it ever?) then I'll feel bad, lol. |

I really want to toss an intake and a tune on the car, but that'll come next year, have everything ready to go lol. I just have to be patient.

 Some will go nuts, we all know about the whole "If you don't get your car serviced at Ford, the warranty is gone" all bs. |

Yeah, don't fall for that. I'd recommend another dealership Some will go nuts, we all know about the whole "If you don't get your car serviced at Ford, the warranty is gone" all bs. |
Gotta ask now that you have had the roush mufflers on far awhile have you noticed any rust on the end of the mufflers and any of the welds starting to crack.I want to upgrade I'd like to install roush cat backs or borla ataks but they are really expensive but the roushs have had some issues, decisions decisions
|
When I upgrade, it will be the Borla's...... just not sure which versions it will be.

Rust starting to show? Yes, I've already contacted my dealer regarding this. I'm sure you're like me who googled "Roush + Rust" lol. I knew what I was getting into so I expect my dealer to honor that, considering that the vehicle was never winter driven and didn't see much rain.... I'm still VERY satisfied with the Roush ABs to be honest, so happy with the exhaust note.

The Touring are far too quiet, my friends sold them off for Flowmasters The Ataks are crazy raspy and then there are the Stypes which sound like the Roush. |
I am thinking I will probably go with the S-Type. The attacks are too loud/raspy. I agree with you. Touring is very mellow and better off staying with the stockers. But guess I might look into the Flowmasters or Roush AB's. haven't done much research to be honest. I drive mine in winter so I need something that can hold up to the sand/salt they use. I don't drive all the time, but when the wife and I can't car pool for work and such, then the Stang comes out. I might have taken it out maybe 10 times between beginning of november - today.
|
Your right I have googled roush now I wonder out here on the wet coast how long will they last for,as for the Borlas it might come down to how much I want to po my neighbours at six in the morn when I leave for work but the noise it might be worth it.
|
If you get the S-Type and don't high rev it or get on it leaving your place you will be fine. The atak system im not so sure about.
just youtube the 2013 gt with borla atak and see what comes up. |

Once you start down the road of Mods, you probably should have decidednot to worry on any warranty issues. Just part of the deal.
Kojak ..2011 Roush 5XR Collector Roush # 83 of 130…modded now 537 RWHP…NO Warranty!! |

A friend and I are going to trade for abit. From what I'm reading and seeing online the build quality is quite bad and the drone is absolutely horrendous with the Flowmaster Outlaws to the point where people can't go on long drives / road trips. But I'm not sure how bad they could be. Either way, I'll be doing my best to maintain the Roush ABs |

Deleting the resonators made is about 20% louder as well upon start up and cruising.

I will wait and see what your thoughts are on the Flowmasters..... But If i could find a non rusting Roush kit that would be great. I like the sound of it and the S-Types..... tough call to make from videos on the internet. Most guys I see driving Stangs here in the summer time won't even look at you or wave...... so it is tough to try and find someone with an exhaust to listen to first hand.
I am always looking at other stangs no matter what year it is. There are a few I meet up with on the highway when I am going to work or just to the city and we give each other the thumbs up but I have never driven around my town just to see where they live and just chat. Guess they are not on this forum as they haven't got in touch with me to meet up and talk mustangs and have a coffee...... but now that I have some CMOC stickers hopefully that will change and get more locals on here I hope. I'm sure it has been mentioned before in other post's i have read......but what is the major difference between axle back and cat back. I mean i understand one is coming from the cats all the way back and the other starts from the rear axles but is there any sound difference, power and such? My understanding was that the really difference doesn't start till the headers and cross pipes to getting changed out then the power and deeper sound comes? |

I had Corsa Xtreme on my 2013 and I really liked them. I'm not sure how they compare in price to the Borla but worth a look.

I think the Roush kit will be fine as long as you spray it with some of antirust once in a while. The S-types do sound quite nice as well, but videos on the web just don't do it justice. Kinda sucks that the Stangers around you aren't too tight. I talk to a bunch of guys here, are part of a bunch of local clubs as well. Axle back wil only replace the stock ABs and nothing else. The catbacks, as you said are right from the cats all the way back. Sound difference will definitely will there as they might: Increase the diameter - 3" through and through Delete the resonators Upgrade to an H Pipe / X pipe More money though. |
Got ya..... Will probably not do too much. Would like a deeper/louder sound with little to no drone as I do a lot of highway driving as the town i live in is 10 mins from the city so there is always highway driving.

I'm a little surprised by how many people have or are going to change their exhausts systems.I know when I got my car the sales crew stood off to the side when they started the car up for the first time that everybody had a big grin on there faces just from the sound emanating from the exhausts while I just closed my eyes and smiled and chuckled to myself but I already want to change the sound to make it a little more obnoxious I see that I'm not the only one,is there something wrong with that/me/us?
|
There is nothing wrong lol we would just like to be heard a little more. I get bored listening to music all the time so I like listening to the sound of the engine/exhaust...... but I want a little more out of the exhaust now. The stock sounds fine and could live with it with out wanting to upgrade the exhaust.... but why? when we can upgrade it to get more sound from it?
That is the reason I got rid of the v6 stang and got the GT so I could get better sound out of it. |

That is the reason I got rid of the v6 stang and got the GT so I could get better sound out of it. My 2010 V6 (lol) had quite a bit of exhaust work done to it (more lol). Full Magnaflow catback + X Pipe, etc, etc. When I started up the 2014 GT for the first time...I was so let down, when I went WOT I was still let down. My 2010 V6 was louder, much lower, deeper etc. Day 2: The 2014 was off to the shop to get all the work done. |
I wish I had the cash right now to do the exhaust so it is ready for spring...but oh well i will sit and wait. But the stock sounds not too bad after 13,000+ km so far. Had to drive it today as wife needed truck and parked in a underground parkade. and when I firerd it up after work it sounded not bad down there lol but cant wait to get something a little louder/deeper. lol

Nice. It'll begin soon.
