Yeah I have had several positive experiences with AM and honestly can't say anything negative. In fact when I ordered the GT500 spoiler for my 2012 GT is showed up with a couple of minor scratches, and they sent a replacement immediately after I called, and sent me a return slip to send the damaged piece back.

I too have had no problem with getting a replacement at no extra cost with AM in the past. However, with this situation where I was only given the option of a refund, I get stuck paying for their mistake.

An update on it though, I finally got my $100 back after asking for their higher ups to talk to me. They said they'll "bend the rules in this case because it was a special situation". Gee thanks, bend the rules so you can do what you should have done in the first place.

Hey, can't fault them for making it right, they didn't have to do squat for you and they did, so regardless of what they should or shouldn't have done at the start, I'd count my blessings and move on.

I bought Ford Racing Cams from AM and was sent completely the wrong part. Once my item was received, the item itself was not in stock so I couldn't get another set shipped out to correct the problem. What I was told is that I could get a full credit back and re-order them when they do come in stock.

This is all fine and dandy, EXCEPT you do not get shipping and duty back from the original order. So for AM's mistake of sending you the wrong part, you pay the shipping and duty.

The only option not to have to pay twice for shipping and duty is to place a back-order (which I was not given the option of) and then they will cover it. I was only given the option of getting credit back since it was not in stock. So now I am out $100.

I understand that it is built into their policies that they do not pay for return shipping. But the fact that I was given no option to place a back-order basically forced me into now paying for their mistake.

Word of advice to fellow Canadians thinking about buying from AM, stick to Canadian suppliers. If you do however, make sure you ask for a replacement on back-order if what you received is wrong and currently not in stock.
The problem with sticking to Canadian suppliers is that the majority of after market parts *cannot be bought in Canada nor are they made here. I do feel your pain though in dealing with AM.

Im going to toss something in here. Same as DublDee. I have order upwards to 8000$ from American Muscle and problems can happen with any company. Last month I ordered Racing Lower control Arms and they shipped me a USED pair of them so I was like umm wtf? Immediately I told them I needed my wrong part shipped back and the new part shipped to me. I did not lose out on shipping and you shouldn't either. What they did was they emailed me a prepaid UPS shipping label with the weight of my package for free return shipping. I took it into UPS and they shipped it back without me paying a penny and my new package was shipped the second they saw the tracking information. You just need to be very clear with what you want and ask them for that and you will get it! Hope that helps. Not sure why that wasn't offered to you or maybe there was miscommunication.
