hmmmmm so I'am risking to blow a piston with a tune??Is that a real issue??Iam about ready to buy a tuner but hey if it means engine trouble,I just wont pull the trigger...

Who are you looking to get the tuner from, AM actually has a #8 cylinder warranty on there tunes.

Heres what AM Chris Ross had to say

The problems, while serious, are so far and few that it's not a reason to panic. It's good for everyone to be aware of the risks, but that's it. We've tuned thousands of 2011 Mustangs here at Bama, and we've only heard of a two cases, where luckily the warranty claim was accepted, both times. I've seen maybe 5 or 6 others from a few different companies. That's a small amount for the huge amount of Mustangs running custom tunes.

The buzz comes from every forum having 5 or 6 threads about the same thing. It looks like there's a lot more problems than their really is.

Use good quality fuel at all times, and we've got you covered from there. All Bama tunes being distributed have taken every safety precaution possible from within the tune. Knock sensors are fully functional and the tunes are commanding a safe air/fuel ratio. There are an overwhelming amount of positive threads and dyno results out there - check those out!

So I wouldnt worry too much about it.

I'm actually suprised you havnt heard about this with all the posting and researching that you seem to do. But ya, a bunch of the first tunes that bama and some others came out with were blowing the #8 cylander for some reason or other, sounds like at least bama has it figured.
Holy crap.....I'm more surprised than you that I haven't heard about this, because I did a ton of research on the Coyote engine before buying mine. I hate to say it but it's stuff like this that makes people switch to other brands. I am VERY pissed to say the VERY least. Next post might just be in the For Sale section

Hmm, sorry I brought it up, I'd hate too see you sell the grabber. I wouldnt worry about it too much though. Like that AM guy said, 6 or seven cars out of thousands that they have tuned is well under 1%. I'm scared to even tune my 4.6, cause I really dont know how my dealer is as far as tunes/ aftermarket stuff go.

That's kinda harsh isn't it. Switch brands because of aftermarket tuner issues?

You should be fine. 4.6 3v tunes have been fine from everything I've seen.

Yes it's harsh, and hopefully it's just the frustration coming out, and hopefully I'll be over it tomorrow. Honestly if I knew that I couldn't tune it, I doubt that I would have bought it in the first place! But really why can't Ford just step up to the G'Damn plate for a change, and look after this transmission problem? That problem has nothing to do with the aftermarket.
