So.. position #1 is modular depot tune .. and from what I can see is a 91 octane tune.
position #? is DaSilva tune...and appears to be a 94 octane tune.
Dieqo sent you away with a can of octane booster and "use 94 octane" to cure the detonation??????
Why didn't he reburn the tune to reflect your requirement to use 91 when he had it there????

Oh and just for hellery... whats the condition of the plugs?
More hellery.... dunno what difference in gain you expected, with your mods, I wouldn't expect much more than what you got.

I don't think he expects tons more power just a vehicle that actually runs

I dont see his post being negative, he didn't bash DaSilva in any way shape of form, nor did he cut them up. He simply stated what occured and what sort of craftsmanship he was gettting.

To be honest with you, DaSilva should be paying for any repairs needed, and should be including a free tune.

Call me crazy but I dont think a bottle of octane boost is a way to get rid of such an issue.

Hope you get everything sorted out :tup

Let's see if I can identify what might have gone through Try Me's head during this...might answer a few questions with regard to calling the shop.

1) makes the long trek to the shop expecting awesome results
2) shop "tunes" the car and it runs like s h i t
3) shop tells him no worries...run better gas :banghead:
4) leaves shop thinking "not overly impressed"
5) gets home and thinks "but everyone raves about these guys"...better run the "good" gas
6) runs the gas based on the shop's advise and whammo
7) should've stuck with "not overly impressed" and called it a day

Why the hell would you call the shop back to say "I left unimpressed...but based on every thing I've heard, I thought I'd still follow your advise...now I'm totally pissed cause my motor is fugged...so how about you fix my car now". :banghead:

Nah...calling the shop won't do squat in this scenario...if you feel the shop's efforts on your car were lack-luster (regardless of the shop)...taking it back to them to fix is not going to happen.

I feel for him. Friend blew his motor shortly after his tune. (different shop, not from Dasilva). Basically its not the tuners fault it happened. When you mod your car (or in my friends case, SC) you have to expect things will break regardless of the tune.

Good luck with your car. And hope you have better luck with future tuners.

2000BLKGT's description is accurate. :banghead:

I don't know how much more factual i can get.

If you got a negative vibe from my post, it's probably because it's not a positive revue.

That's Bull F'n shitte. Call DaSilva and tell them to fix your car!! They f'ud up and thats all there is to it. Drive over there in a rented Mustang and blow the place up. When a dealer has equipment to do tuning, they better know what they're doing. This isn't the first bad tuning experience I heard from these guys. They sell parts to anyone who has cash and offer tunes at competitive prices so they should know what they're doing!!

Call the BBB, call the FBI, hell even call Osama Bin Laden, but they should fix YOUR CAR!!!

I don't think you have to go that far but keep in mind there are other shops around that claim to do great tunes but have yet to prove it, I'm waiting.

Modded parts = no warranties (even FRPP).

That said...it doesn't make sense to me to post this experience until after you have contacted any business to give them the opportunity to rectify the situation. I have two folders on my hard drive: one with responses to my letters to companies where they have responded to me in situations where I had issues with a product/service (and I go straight to the top), and the second where they have opted not to stand behind their product or service.

The latter I can complain about/report/not deal with again but I have at least given them the opportunity to deliver on the service or product promise to me, their customer.

Please note I'm not making a comment about any particular shop here but referring to a broader range of companies (including Fortune 500 multinationals) I have provided service/product experience feedback to.
