Get a plan together on what you want to accomplish for your engine, horsepower and performance wise, and how you're going to do it. Organization is key in making sure everything you buy is in the right place at the right time, and will prevent tearing everything apart a second or third time to retrofit. A budget framework wouldn't be a bad idea either, it's easy to spend stupid money on things you think you need, but don't. If you're dong this yourself and don't have a whole lot of experience, doing your homework by asking the guys who have done it before and actually listening helps too, nothing like the school of hard knocks when dealing with an engine build (no pun intended)
As far as what you should buy, well it's pretty much up to your wallet. Like they said in Mad Max, speed is just a question of money, how fast do you want to go?? Good luck and happy building, take some pictures along the way and be sure to start a build thread so we can follow along.

How much horsepower the block can withstand depends on how you build it. How much are you looking to make ? 500, 750, 1000 ?

Hi RR, just to give you an idea, my friend 90 fox mods is engine in 2 steps, for about 12000$.

for something like 3200$, Twisted wedge top end kit,

With dyno tune he had 296 whp / 306 tq.

For Another 7000$ 347 forged stroker kit with Dart engine block, balanced flywheel and damper. That kind of block can support more than 800hp
9:1 compression, dyno tune at 376whp.
