Looking for tips on what to keep an eye open for when buying an 87-93 Mustang
Folks, I'm in the market for an 87-93 5L 5 speed convertible and would appreciate any help that you may have for "things to look out for" when going to check out prospects.

Cancer, rot, RUST.
Seriously, check everywhere for rust, under the hood, shock towers, floor pans, torque boxes, wheels wells, body panels. You can buy a complete driveline for those cars for hundreds of dollars, and the aftermarket makes any replacement part you can dream of, its the rust thats killer on them. At least IMO
I wanted to get another Fox Vert when I was looking for this current stang, but I was having a really hard time find one clean enough, thats why I ended up with my New Edge.

Yep all you need to do is crawl under the rear.
Have a very good look at the torque boxes (Lower control arms bolts too) if there rotten stay away. If the spot welds are ripped or its twisted stay away.

You're right... Rust. If it's metal on a Fox Mustang, chances are it's rusted out... Or will soon rust out.

Rust in the fenders, TQ boxes, up in the trans / bell housing area (floors), rear main seal, frame rails near the shock tower, around the front window / pillars.
Good luck. Anything super clean and mint you will pay for. IMO, a mint stock vert atleast has a value of 7-10k can, and even at 10k its getting up there. Lets not forget these cars are 15+ years old.
