If the people on this forum who've had bad work done via DaSilva would like to chime in, then so be it. I'm not going to try to explain others experiences.

I hate these threads

the only advise I'll give anyone now is to visit the various shops yourself...make the call on who you feel most confortable with...and understand that modding a car can sometimes be a real PITA and real expensive (especially if you're the first to go where nobody has before)...and every shop will have horror stories

I've heard great things about Paul DaSilva's work on 5.0l cars...but pull up in a 4.6l and it's a different story. Back in the J+P days....Joe would come up and shake your hand...while Paul wouldn't even acknowledge your presence.

DaSilva Racing is capable...but when Joe first split with Paul and opened his own shop....***** were dropping like crazy. I believe that things have recently improved. Joe is a nice guy...a bit too much of a salesman for my liking. With regard to tuning....Joe and his crew seem more happy with a wrench in their hands....but don't seem as happy with a laptop

I've heard nothing but praise for Nick's...and I've met and chatted with both Nick and his wife....seem like good consciencious likeable people. Nick is not equipped to dyno-tune the 4.6l....but I'd be real interested to see who he recommends?????

Steeda/MPW built and tuned my car. I have a great relationship with the guys. Like every relationship...there's ups, downs and frustration. But I'm confident that they would (and have on many ocassions) go to the wall to deliver.

edit...I forgot, there's another shop that I've heard good things about in the Oshawa/Ajax area called Rev'n High...seem to have good experience modding the Stangs...and if memory serves...they send their cars to Meister in Milton for tuning.

edit #2...the reason for this edit is certain folks questioning the capability and effort from the Steeda/MPW team. What you're looking at is not bolt-on...it's custom fabrication. Those are CPR fuels rails mounted on a 1.7l 2V Kennebell set up for the 4.6l. According to CPR...it's never been done before. Mike Grella from MPW spent at least 2hrs like a surgeon, grinding a perfect wedge into the top of the passenger rail so it would clear the throttle body port. And the billet bracket holding the PowerMaster Alt in it's place...totally custom fabricated by the MPW crew...and if you understand that the modding bug is a game of millimetres...you should see how close the Alt clears the passenger side pulley on the KB set up...the Alt had to be "clearanced as well. Oh yeah...the upper rad hose...that's not a cover...it's a proper #20 hose with fittings...fittings were mig-welded to the water-necks and polished before I ever even saw the parts. I was working with Mike while assembling the fitting to the hose....and like most of the work you're looking at...it's not for the faint-of-heart. Oh yeah...back to the fuel rails...CPR seemed complacent to "back order the rails" until "whenever"...probably still on back-order right now....Pat Arlia had a non-finished set sent up here and had them anodized locally....so my car would be ready for the season.

you want horror stories...there are plenty...you want success stories...there are plenty more

there's my 92 cents

I fully agree with this statement..............Steeda.ca started with a great reputation and it appears that getting bigger has affected their customer service and workmanship. The Steeda.ca of old would go out of their way to help customers but it seems that attitude is no longer present.

Moral of the story, there are good and bad stories about every shop! Everyone makes mistakes but it's how they correct their mistakes that sets the good apart from the bad.

I am not going to re-hash what happened to me of late..............Let's just say......I have moved on!!!!
End of story......put to rest!!!

I also agree with that whole statement but it still pisses me off some times knowing those guys are still getting away with it, but on a funnier note I just laugh when I hear these guys that praise them.

If I know you're gonna spend a lot of your money at my store then I'll kiss your *** also but at my BBQ I'll cook you ribs.

Lately my installs have been completed at Nick's Automotive. I pay shop rates but get excellent installations by 2 licensed mechanics who just happen to be fans of the almightly Mustang. Can't go wrong with that. I could get it done cheaper and have in the past but the installs were never done properly.

Pay once and have it done right.

For parts (not all) I can get them cheaper than ANY shop in the GTA and have the perfect place to install them. NICK'S.

Of course guys praise them. They do good work. Like I said, everyone makes mistakes. Not everyone has a bad experience with Steeda.ca, DaSilva, etc...they have more positive experiences than negative.

As an example, Concepts on Wheels screwed my install on my motor big time. However, they made up for it and I know of many people who have had good installs at Concepts such as 2000BLKGT above.

Pat, Paul and the MPW gang will get back to their old ways, I have no doubt.

My vote is for NIck's and steeda. Nick done some great work on my turbo car and the best tuner around here is meister. I called up lideo for a tune and he wants my car for 48 hours and 800 US to tune it. Paul has improved so much since the shop opened.

Hold on here you're comparing paul (who can't set timing on 5.0L's) to Lidio the professional tuner, you don't know what you're talking about. I dare you to research all the boards and find one negative thing said about Lidio's work, then do the same for paul and here's a free pass the first 3 negative posts you find of paul I won't count.

Like the guy said above this isn't the gtamc you don't have to kiss *** here, on another note it was so funny listening to pat explain why the car wasn't running right I don't think even he knew what he was saying. When I caled SCT to tell them what pat & paul were telling me they laughed.
