Mustang shops in the GTA?
#41
I've been staying clear of this thread for a while but here's my .02
One of the things I did right from the start was check out a few shops. Once I found the one I was comfortable with I stayed there through thick and thin. Things didn't go smoothly every time but we worked on fixing it in a calm manner. Bottom line is only one shop has wrenched on my ride since day 1. Today, regardless of what happens I can never be told....."You took your car to X and they changed this which caused that......."
Now if my car breaks while launching at 6000rpms I can't blame the shop. My clutch is currently warped, it's a Centerforce, but I do repeatedly beat the everloving out of my car so happens.
The shop I work with is DaSilvas, and yes, I agree it's difficult to nail them down at times, but over time I've earned some "respect" too so that my stuff gets dealt with when I need it to be done.

Everyone does good work and when a problem with the fuel pump came about with the 05, Joe had the 05 back on a tow truck to the shop and it's been fixed. :thumb1:

interesting....as this thread takes on a life of it's own....there was a thread just made on the GTAMC from a Stang owner praising the work, service and tuning from the boys at Steeda/MPW
tuning on a 5.0 to boot
so....everyone got this all figured out yet?
kaylan1521 - well put

2) read my post on page two - I believe my comments on Nick were as accurate as yours....not too mention the "take you chances" aspect

All of the shops listed are known for both good and bad results but look at it this way:
Are the products you purchased making your car
1.) faster/ better handling?
2.) perform better?
3.) harsher/ smoother ride?
4.) living up to your expectations?
A bad install is one thing, but if the parts you had installed are not living up to your expectations you can't blame the installer.
ie. Read the Ford Motorsport Catologue, most suspension parts listed have a warning that there may be a deterioration in ride quality. If installed and you hate the way your car drives, does this mean it was inproperly installed? Probably Not.
Another thing, most products you buy are sold as bolt-on. However, you quickly learn that a little fabrication is needed with most parts sold. Nothings really bolt-on these days.
Lets start a thread on what mods made a significant difference in your car and who installed them.
