Like the guy said above this isn't the gtamc you don't have to kiss *** here, on another note it was so funny listening to pat explain why the car wasn't running right I don't think even he knew what he was saying. When I caled SCT to tell them what pat & paul were telling me they laughed.
Compare apples to apples.

Changing the timing on a 4.6 and a 5.0 is a different thing all together. Most mechanics have to refer to a book on how to change the timing on a 5.0 and Paul isn't a mechanic.

In regards to their story, did they rectify the situation for you? Was your blown motor repaired?

As much as I don't mind people sharing their experiences, this anti-Steeda.ca stuff is getting lame. From the jealous competitors to people jealous of the sucess of the company, it's juvenile.

I guess people find it easier to jump all over two young men running a business than someone older.

There is a lot more to my experience but I'm not going to say any more here because I hate to type and you don't really get the handle on the situation as if I were to tell you in person.

If I ever meet up with anyone here or anybody else out there and the steeda.ca topic comes up I'll be more then happy to tell my story and I'm not going to sugar coat it because there is no need, they knew I wouldn't be coming back so they did nothing to go out of their way to fix my problem the right way as people have said they do.

I'm not here to praise other shops or because I'm jealous of steeda.ca I'm here because the guy wanted to know which shops to go to and which shop to trust so I told him which shop I don't trust and which ones I do.

I'm confused.

I totally understand your frustration...you're not the first I've read tell a horror story about modding a car going wrong

but was your motor blown? (ie:...was the motor rebuilt because of internal damage)

who ended up tuning your car - Lideo?

did the process of getting the car running properly involve installing/replacing additional parts....or was it simply a tuning issue?

and on a positive note...how were the numbers?

I feel bad for you....the conversations at most meets involve car owners sharing their grief involved in modding their car....but it's odd....you'll be talking to one person who'd never take thier car back to certain shop....and then you find a row of guys with spectacular rides that the same shop built.

I dunno...nuthin is certain but death and taxes

I am interested in people's experiences with shops in the GTA. I sent an email to Pat some time ago outlining my query (i.e. installing cams, what else should I supply, how much will it roughly be etc) and he said he'd get back to me. Never did. I understand Pat's busy and probably gets a kabillion emails so...whatever; If he's that busy then perhaps I need to search around for alternatives.

If someone says that they had less than satisfactory service at any shop, I definitely want to know about it and what was done to rectify (or not, as the case may be). Mistakes happen of course and what's done to make things right is as important to me as the original error.

I just hope this stays civil. I'm not seeking to sully anyone but if you've had some bad happen, please tell me...

Those people mentioned above are well know to be DaSilva supporters no matter what and I bet you my car Joe knows these people will not go to another shop and that they have lots of cash to spend at his shop so darn right Joe will go out of his way to please them. That's what happened at steeda.ca.

My motor blew a head gasket on their dyno, they fixed it (I paid) with lots of sloppy work and a tune that still didn't feel right, he wouldn't give me my money back for the sct chip so I removed the chip and tuned the car old school until I put the car on a trailer and took it to Lidio.

I think you should try me. I'm an intelligent chap.

Explain to us what Steeda.ca was paid to do and what the outcome of that job was. I don't understand why you don't hesitate to slag them, but you can't be bothered to explain why you have such hard feelings.

I feel your pain dude...when you get into a circumstance where things go wrong...it's a clusterfuck-in-the-making at the best of times...and you become real skeptical about the guys wrenching on your ride.

I used to take the Morgan to the guy my Dad did before he died...and the guy started cutting major corners IMO....and it did not feel right at all. So luckily I had another option...and that guy hasn't seen me in over 2 years...and won't again ever. And this guy wrenches on Jags for one of the most notable collectors in Toronto.

Sorry that happened to you....nobody wants to be the guy on the wrong end of a bad car story. And when you are that guy.....no matter how hard the shop attempts to stop the bleeding...it's too late cause you're already gone.

That answer is NO ( and you kept pretty good tabs on that scenario as well...If I do recall ) BUT I would re-consider him before the other shop simply because Joe came good for ALL the $$$$ I was out in repairs.....not just half and some excuses!!!!

( This is Not DaSilva Racing)The main problem I saw started when the shop became very busy and overbooked and race season (OSCA) was fast approaching.....everything seemed to get rushed or put on the back burner..thus probably being the cause of extremely poor workmanship and carelessness.A few earlier other small issues and things I noticed made me very skeptical as well....(ie: pullies being removed and replaced with air tools, electrical lines run rather short and breaking on the drive home etc.) The problems that were found with my car were only found because of me going to another shop to get a fuel system upgrade and replacing a leaky rear pinion seal as I needed the car ASAP and this other new shop could get it in and out ASAP. If the issues were not found when they were.....this summer WOULD have been even more expensive than it turned out to be (Not counting my KB situation) as they would have reared their ugly head during the peak of the 2006 season.I have some very well documented and photographic shots in regards to the workmanship that I will always keep as a friendly reminder of how to spend your hard earned money unnecessarily due to poor/sloppy workmanship!!! Do all shops drop the ball sooner or later???? Probably in one way or another. But it is how they handle the situation that makes or breaks the customer's loyalty and trust......... SO in terms of stopping the bleeding....Didn't really try hard enough, showed me how they felt about this customer..... and Yes I am ( Gone)!!!!!ASTA LA VISTA BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For their sake and future customers, I sure hope they have improved their customer service and more importantly their workmanship for all customers.....not just a chosen few!!!!

Some will appreciate this post....some will hate this post....some could care less!!!!............ To you all ...Ces't la vie!!!!...........that has been my experience, like it or lump it!!!.......my $.02 worth!!!
