As soon as GT owners make the statement "GT or bust" that you raise the hackles of V6 owners. The additional statement that "Everything else will leave you wanting more and feeling inferior" just adds fuel to the fire. If you read my previous post on this issue I was not comparing sounds of exhaust systems. I indicated to a previous poster that the Magnaflow system had a "similar sound." Similar and comparing are two different subjects. The original poster, DanF, put out the statement that he only had $10,000 to spend on a used mustang and could not decided whether to buy a GT or buy a V6. My comments were two fold mainly to advise him not to discount the power and performance of the V6 and the other was as a supportive statement for the V6. Obviously we both have our respective opinions on both models. I am sure your a great person also. You should realize though that as long as the Ford Motor Company produces both models potential mustang owners will have a choice and that there will be owners from both the Mustang GT camp and the Mustang V6 camp with there views on the respective models based on experience. I have owned three V6 mustangs since 1984 and have no problem with the power issue with either V6. I have driven the 2005 GT and while it is a great mustang in its own right my preference was the V6. The two concerns at the time was where in Canada I was going to use all the power of the GT never mind the power of the V6 without being ticketed, other than a race track. The other consideration was price.

I must admit that yes, I do get pissed when the V6 does not get the respect it deserves. You will find on many of the forums that I belong to that I do not go out of my way to dish the GT. Why would I? We are all part of the same group.

As for the comment about a restraining order that did not happen what did occur is that I made a complaint to my supervisor and to the Human Resources Department. HR in turned counseled the individual that his behavior bordered on harrassement and if he countinued with his rant he could face dismissal. What was funny with this person was that he did not own a mustang, his cousin did. He is the type of person that has to have the best and most powerful of everything no matter what he buys, kinda of a work place "bully."

I would have though "let's see your mustang" would have shut him down..you describe him as a bully..probably would have picked any target..regrettably, the workforce is littered with his type..

Talking about horse power, one of my last cars had 52 horse power w/three on the tree and was sold by GM high performance devision !!!!

To quote myself.,.."It was mentioned earlier, if you love the v6, Great !! it only gives me one more car to wave at going down the road."

However, there are not the identical cars ..one with a 6 and the other an 8.

Will it be spring soon ?????

I have an 02 V6, and with the money I saved, I was able to do a tone of mods. Now I have a unique very enjoyable Mustang . I regularly beat out many GTs and Mach 1s on the Dyno and simulated 1/4 mile. But that may be due to the supercharger.

Swinging a lighter front end through the corners also makes for a better performing car.

There is no "right" way to enjoy this hobby and what you put into your car. We are all individuals. Maybe all our cars should be the same.Would that be interesting?

I remember at one show, a lady looked under the hood of my car exclaiming "its only a V6, nothing special". I told her that she was not really a car enthusiast if she makes that kind of comment. A real enthusiast will appreciate what it takes for someone to put there heart and soul into their cars.

Interesting...I wave at a lot of Mustang GT's going down the road either there beside me or in my rearview mirror.

words of wisdom for us all

I am Also driving a v6, well actually two if you include the eclipse. and i love my cars, yea if I had the money at the time i could have gone with a GT.. I could even sell off both my cars now and get a GT.. but I'm quite happy where I am. I have seen some pretty nasty V6 stangs whip the hell out of GT's and even a few whoopin some Termi's. I also know a guy that has an 02 3.8L with a stock engine that has some similar track times to a porsche 911...it's all about the owner's perspective.
Personally I bought my car cause i wanted a Mustang.. not cause i wanted a V8. if all i wanted was a V8 I woulda stuck to my 383 Z28 that did low 11 second passes

What a waste reading those 5 pages of posts... Same stuff that always get regurgitated.

Ray: You complain about people knocking your V6 but all you do is defend it to the point where you might as well talk smack about the 8's. After all you get what you pay for and lets face it a GT often turns heads quicker than a V6. As far as you seeing GT's beside you or in your rear view that's probably by chance or they just have not passed you yet.

I love cars and seeing them customized but why would you buy a V6 to turn around and add all kinds of mod's hoping to increase the performance. Is this now why the GT is offered? My cousin has an 07 V6 with some mod's (exaust, chip, etc) and I still do not like the sound but that is just me.

As others have said it is all preference... and obviously some people simply have bad taste... lol.

Hey Ray I have no doubt you are a stand up guy but you took my "gt or bust" to literally. The statement is my personal saying nothing more or nothing less. I haved owned 0 Mustangs with the 4-6 and 4 8's. You might see why I use that statement. Peace brother.

some people think lambo doors are bad taste.

Hoping to increase performance is not the same as actually increasing performance.

I am not bashing anyones taste, and would not be laughing at them. That shows bad taste. You need to read and understand what is the actual meaning of the wording in these posts. It all has to do with respect.
