My New Ride

Ok it's not really mine and just a demo, but I get to enjoy it for a little bit before someone buys it. It's a loaded GT with performance package and Recaro seats. I also had a Roush axle back installed which sounds fantastic.

Nice. What's with the dirt parking lot at the dealership?

Apocalypse Pony 04-09-2015 03:59 AM

That's awesome Chad, congrats on the new ride, that yellow looks sweet.

Autonut 04-09-2015 04:44 AM

If I lived a little closer, I would come by and go for a test drive. :D

Hey Chad, you guys have any base GT's. There's not to many around on the Alberta lots and I'd like to know how the base cloth seats are. Also whats the sticker on that bad boy? I'll guess 50000.

Small town dealer, about half of our lot is gravel. We will be laying some more pavement at some point, probably next year.

We have a base GT coming in 3-4 weeks. My understanding is that the base GT seats are the same as the GT premium seats just in cloth. When it comes in I'll check it out and let you know. MSRP is $54,399.

Cloth seats in a GT would be good. I have leather and it was pretty hot yesterday in West Kelowna and subsequently very hot in the GT. Could never figure out why everyone rants and raves about leather.

No way would I spend that on a GT.

I agree, next time I'll go base vs leather.

Autonut 04-09-2015 11:42 AM

I found that out in Florida. With the top down, I stuck to the seats with my shorts on. Almost rips the skin right off you when getting in or out.

The 2015 GT Premium without Recaro's has heated/cooled seats, they are pretty nice.

I love all of the bells and whistles on this car, but the base GT is the bargain for sure which can be had for under $40,000 MSRP.

I really need a new car Chad, you could make my dreams, and my wifes dreams, come true if you just gave your new ride to us.

OK, AP. Just a warning for you, because you just begged Chad and not CMOC for a Mustang. :D But if need be, I will donate a spot under the old oak tree for you to park it. :tup

The GT premium has cooled leather seats, I've tried them and the genuinly get cold within seconds of turning them on. No longer need to worry about sweating in GT with leather seats!

Yes but still not worth 50000 to me.

It depends on what you're looking for, what other cars can you get with the same options for 50,000? You could get a C400 Merc maybe, and while that's a great car it's not exactly a V8 Sports coupe.

Just depends on what you want out of your 50,000

def67 04-23-2015 12:22 PM

When I bought mine, a GT premium with no options was 39000, now a Base GT is 39000. Thats what bothers me. Mustang is supposed to be an affordable sports car and its not anymore. At least you can get an ecoboost for a decent price and with a tune it will hang with a gt.

Something to keep in mind though, is that the base GT basically has everything that a premium GT in 2010 would have had (except leather), but it has well over 100 more hp, a 6 speed, push button start etc. A premium ecoboost would feature way more than a base GT from 2010, and be competitive performance wise.

We got a base GT in yesterday. The seats seem to be the same as the GT premium seats minus the leather, which in my opinion are the best stock seats I've ever sat on in a Mustang (except the Recaro's). I have to admit that if I were a buyer, I'd probably buy the base over the premium.

Does the base have a backup camera stock like my f150?

Yep, it's standard equipment.

At first I thought the back-up camera wasn't worth it but now that I have one I love it!

They are great, and by 2018 will have to be standard equipment on all vehicles.
