Which one would you go for?
Getting bored with the 09 so my question is this, come spring or whenever the new GT500 is released i.e. 5.8 @ 650hp which car would you/should I go after. I am thinking the Boss LS and the new GT500. Boy oh boy this will/would be a difficult decision, the race car look/sound of the LS vs the brute power of the 500. As of now I think I would pick the Boss LS:cha cha: Oh I think the 2 different cars will be within a few thousand dollars of each other so that should be a wash. I will guess with tax the new GT500 will be approx 68k tax in here or am I way off base:D

What about the new Camaro? LOL
Id go with the boss! I've priced both at Ford.ca and theyre about the same bucks. |
That's a tough one. I'd go GT500 over the LS, I'm not huge on the Boss LS styling. Honestly I'd just go with a regular Boss if it was me.
|
Since 07 I have always been fanatical about the GT500. Though the new model is intriguing I'm really stuck on the Boss 302 right now so that would be my vote.
|
Boss is winning
|
I like both!........... Touch choice!:?

That's a really tough choice... The 500 for the brute force and cushy ride, or the exclusivity of the LS Boss. I like brute force, but the "race car for the street" image of the LS is hard to ignore. Plus, I read somewhere that the LS is losing the different coloured roof next year. That was one thing I really didn't like about the car when it first appeared.
Snakebite, another thing to read up on would be a suspension comparison between the two. If the LS is running a stiffer set-up (I suspect it is), your back may not like it. |
+1 for the advice and keep in mind I drive very little i.e. less than 600 miles a year. The final decision would come down to the sound difference between the two. Strange I know. I had a deposit on a LS a year ago and was told your chances are 0 to none but now they have one sitting on the floor go figure. I will run this by the wife tonight as she is out of town.
|
I personally am a Shelby fan when that price range is discussed.
The Boss is the new flavor so it is only normal to want to try it. I say drive one, look at it in your garage for an hour,as thats where it will spend most of it's time anyway like you say. (I'm not trying to be a wise ass either snakebite). I also noticed you ordered the current 09 stripe delete. Is this offered in the Boss? Carry on,I am jealous of either one you get.:tup Lorne. |

If you want a LS you better snap one up though as the 2013 will not be available in Canada.

Boy oh boy.....I'm thinking the Boss, but only because I think it's going to be a but more collectable, but then again a Shelby is.....well it's a Shelby! I hope Carrol lives another 20 years, but lets face it, he's getting up there, and if he does pass I think those Shelbys will be very, very collectable. Ok I changed my mind....the Shelby! Thats my final answer......I think???

Go for the Boss LS, numbers wise it's harder to put one in the driveway, so it's a rare Pony, plus that rear seat cross bar is about the coolest thing since sliced bread.
|
That and the sound of the exhaust^^^^^

I say boss as well since it's a better car overall (handling, comfort etc) but the Shelby is better for mere presence/sound, no doubt about that. 600 miles per year, if you aren't tracking or anything it'll make for more epic burnouts and noise

Oh my thats a heart attack waiting to happen for me tehehehe

If I trade it I will dump the clutch at the rev limiter and do one on the way to the dealer

I will let you know. I told the wife I am needing a LS and she did not flinch/swear at me so that's a great start,

I agree on the regular Boss! Plus I believe the LS has an even stiffer suspension than the regular Boss. But if you are looking for more of the "rarity" factor, my choice would be LS all the way.

I would certainly think so

Look at it this way... You already have a GT500, and a nice one at that. Sure, the new one is new and improved, has more H.P., etc, but, It is still a GT500, just like all the other GT500s out there. The Boss, and especially the LS, is where it's at.
You know you want it... and |
oh I must have lol and +1
|
Here ya go Snake.....better get on it, only one left!!!!

if your going for the boss dont do like i did and buy in canada.go to the us its 7000 thousandcheeper tax in plus you get a boss package and a day at the track in utah for free wigh you dont get when you bye in canada.
|
Unless your buying used you better act fast! For 2013 there will be no Boss LS in Canada and rumor has it only 1 2013 Shelby per SVT dealer :? I would also be thinking about the redesign with 50th anniversary being this close and maybe waiting..
Decisions, decisions... Think they will offer more power / features or less with the rumored global platform? The demise of the Shelby name is a strong possibility if strong rumors are true, in 2015 Ford may just return to the "Cobra" brand name, after all old Carrol ain't getting any younger. That 2013 Shelby would definitely be on my short list it, After all it is the best Ford has to offer in a Muscle car! sadly it may just may be the last! |
Well to my disappointment the Calgary dealer will not deal and ask AP unless I save multiple thousands I walk, time to wait for a 13 GT500. I went to dinner (the Keg) Fri night and a big time Mustang collector told me to wait until 2015
|
Sounds like you better wait it out then!! But the Current LS is sweet in black!!!:?
