Question about back spacing

We want to put Weld's on the 83 GT but we're unclear on the backspacing.

We want the wheels to tuck under the fender, not stick out.

Does anyone know the proper backspacing?

I didnt know you have an 83 steve... if you dont want the rim to stick out the fender and your going with a 10 inch wide rim like a draglite or pro star I would highly reccomend a 6.5 inch backspacing rim, 5.5 will stick out too much and your car will look like a camaro

(Its also what I have on my car)

It's a friends car, we've been working on it for a few weeks getting it ready for the track, April 15.
