what are the stock brake rotor size for front and back for my 2005 v6 mustang?

 

The fronts are 11". Not sure on the back. The back rotors on the V6 are the same size as the GT though. FYI the front rotors on the GT are 12".

 

Ok well i need to get new rotors but i want drilled and slotted so i need to know what the spec,s are.also can anyone point me to a place to get a good deal on them? here in Windsor only one place has them at $121 each.

 

A more useful upgrade (assuming that you have 17" wheels to clear them) would to go with the kit from Ford Racing Parts that supplies the GT rotors and caliper brackets, you reuse your old calipers and pads. This upgrades you from the original 11.5" rotors to 12.4" rotors, for $159 US retail.

You may also have success finding good used takeoff parts from someone who has done a brake upgrade on a low mileage 2005 - 2010 GT. The 2011 V6 Performance Pack is also using these larger rotors. Drilled and slotted rotors are pretty much just for bling, if you want an actual improvement in brake performance the size upgrade makes more sense.

Thats just it i don't have 17" i have the 16" rims and yes i was just looking for bling my mustang is only used for a weekend cruse.Thanks for the info..

 

Ahh ... there you go. Powerslot is decent quality stuff if you want to try slotted rotors. The problem with drilled ones is that they can end up cracking between the holes from the heat, since they are not part of the casting, they are drilled after the fact.

So 11.5 is the front what are the back ones?

 

I think they are around 11". There is only one size of rear rotor for all 2005-2012 Mustangs, doesn't matter what model. So if the place that you're buying them from can't figure out what to order, you might want to deal somewhere else.
