are smoked headlights legal in ontario....I know a lot of people you've gotten into trouble with their black headlight covers....
i say spend the money on performance and leave the headlights alone....:P |

Actually Smoked headlights were standard on all Mustangs from 2001 to 2004.
I put them in my 99 and love the look!! Go Smoked Steve!! |
smoked :tup
|
Besides eBay, any other place that has these lights?
|
Have you tried Stone Mountain Racing?
I vote smoked :tup |
I ended up purchasing a set from Blue Oval Industries. $99.99US from a proven seller with an excellent feedback rating.
Some of the sellers have hundreds of negative feedbacks some with fit problems. |
Smoked of course! Upgrade the lamps to Silverstars or PIAAs cuz the smoke does dim the light output a bit.

Well if you need headlights anyway, and smoked are legal i'll vote for them too. Where did your headlighs go though?
|
Lets just say, an experiment went bad. I tried the clear corner modification. Needless to say, it didn't work out very well.
|
I hat eto say it but it sounds like you pissed the performance gods off by paying tribute to the aesthetics gods

smoked BTW.

For anyone considering the headlight modification, here's some points to consider.
Not all ovens are accurate in terms of temperature. I think mine was hotter than it was set at. (Older stoves tend to do this) The first lense came appart with ease but due to the heat, there was some surface spidering on the lense which I thought I could wet sand out. It didn't come out with a wet sand. The second lense was a complete disaster. Dispite being careful, the lense broke as did the black backing. I repaired the lense only to have the same problem with spidering, something wet sanding didn't help. Just be careful when you do it and make sure you have an extra $130 in case things don't go very well  |
doh that sucks :(
|
If you have a 99+ car...up until this year you could rent even a V6 and swap them out, not that I know anyone who did this...

i say spend the money on performance and leave the headlights alone....:P They are legal for one simple reason. They really are not smoked. They just look smoked do to the fact that the main headlight unit is painted black(where the reflected area of the '99 to '00 are chrome). The lenz is clear. The black background in the headlight gives off the illussion of it being smoked. That is how ford can get away with the "smoked headlight" theme. Someone i talk to on the net gave me the info as he did the amber reflecter delete, and brought it up in a conversation. :) But you can buy a set off true smoked headlights where the lenz is smoked in the aftermarket. Now would that be legal. :bleh: |

dunno if you wanna call it a subframe connector and i don't know if it's different on newer ones but my 85 had these massive steel frames along the bottom of the door....must of added as much or more rigidity as a subframe connector by the look of it, and they weren't bolted in...they were part of the car.
