SN95 Mustang Hood's. Any Advice? Lets see yours!

Hey Guys and Gals,

I was thinking about getting a new hood for the Mustang.

I was thinking about going with a cowl hood and I kinda like the Harwood Formula Show Series Bolt On Hood - Its kinda got a Saleen style to it. (Harwood - The Most Respected Name in Fiberglass!).

Anybody have any experience with Harwood hoods? I've read that in general the hoods are nice, not at all flimsy, and has very nice latch / hinge setup. One weird thing I've heard is that the hood has an extra 1/4" of material all the way around the edge. Harwood says this is to protect against shipping damage, but the result is the hood has to be trimmed to fit correctly. Can't wait to see what the body shop will charge for that. Have you guys heard of this before?

I was also debating a Cervinis 94-98 Heat Extractor Hood (Part # 1159) (https://www.cervinis.com/large.aspx?img=745_1_big.png) - I've heard these are great. Perfect fit, just paint and bolt into place. Just not sure if this hood will clear my GT40 Intake.

Help! Any advice is appreciated.

What aftermarket hoods do you guys have? Come on .... Lets see em!

I have the Steeda Q400 hood. The hood is 100% ready for scuff, and paint. The quality is "A" 1. Their hoods come gelcoated aswell, along with a finished underside.
Here is 2 link to your year model.
Ford - Steeda.ca

Also, they are cheaper then Cervini hoods.Cervini makes "A" 1 quality hoods, but the price is a little high for some, and the Steeda hoods are very comparible in quality to Cervini's.

Both of those hoods you posted will look good with the Saleen style. The Harwood being the closest match.
I do like the cervini extractor hood though because it resembles the factory 03/04 cobra extractor hood and it looks sweet.
Not sure though if you have clearance for your intake with either of these though.
A cervini cobra r (2000 style) might give you more clearance because it has a 2 inch lift and looks really sweet even if you don't have the cobra front clip.
Of course a cowl hood will always do the job and if you get the right one it can be killer as well.

I have not heard much about Harwood but I have heard all good about Cervini and I guess with hoods you sometimes get what you pay for.

Thanks guys much appreciated. The cost of both hoods is relativly equal. I like the Cervini's because I've heard the fit in exact, like the Steeda hood 1LOW03GT showed me (thanks a lot by the way!) but I like the Harwood hood cause of the cowl and the close match to a Saleen hood. Decisions, decisions. I'll let you guys know what I end up going with. Now I have the Steeda hood in the mix ... this is gonna be a hard one!
