All '79 - '93 Mustangs came with Borg Warner T-5 manual trans. I beleve Tremec is more of an aftermarket trans.

thanks, I feel so stupid. I always was involved with old chevs and mopars but never had much experience with a 5.0. All i knew was they were a 14 sec. car out of the box.

You'll find three different names cast into various T5s over the years, from World Class, to Borg Warner, and even Tremec. They are all owned by tremec now, so if someone tries selling you a tremec T5 just remember that it is nothing special, just a factory Borg Warner T5 with the tremec name on it.
