Real men build power the old fashon way LMAOrockon: power adders are for girlsj/k

i can only imagine the responses that are going to arise now LMAO

Will the stage 2 cams work well with a blower? (for the future)

Ponyryd 01-30-2007 08:09 PM

I would say KB, I like power the old fashioned way but a PI swap is much more work than a blower is. With the blower it's easily removed should you ever sell the car, plus the blower looks coolrockon: . It depends what you want though, the blower will likely provide more power than the heads/cams but the blower will also kill your fuel mileage if you're in the boost all the time.

Yes but if you someday wanted to go blown to get the full potential out of your 4.6 you need the PI swap. Stage 2 cams are a N/A grind stage 3 is a blower grind but i believe the blower will work with a stage 1

I agree about the old fashion build.thumb: Reason i went the VT stage II root.
But the blower will be easier way to get power overall.

If you go with the stage II blower cams yeah, but not the stage II N/A cams. The stage II N/A cams go well with nitrous from what i read on another board. So there is another open door for more power.thumb:

Not true, guys have been passing e tests with the stage II's,and aftermarket highflow h/x pipes still attached,it's all in the tune, and who is,or can tune it. thumb:
Plus there is talk from drive clean that vehicles equipped with the OBDII computer will no longer need to run on the dynometer to do the e test,it will be done threw scanning the OBDII.Lots of places south of the border from here already do this, and have great success with it.So if this does take affect, there will be no worries at all.

Trust me,i'm keeping my eyes on this closely 'cause i do have these cams in my '03 GT.rockon:

I love the "puhchuga" of cams.....but I love the whine of a KB more

my mother could drive my car easily.....she behaves just like a stocker when you're gentle with her.....but the second you get a tad agressive, it's jeckel and hyde....car feels like it wants to ripp your face off.....and the pitch of the blower rising with the rpms is worth the price of admission alone

FWIW....my car runs cleaner with the KB and Meister's tune than it did stock

PO10PONY 02-08-2007 07:15 PM

Well if it were me I'd go BOTH!

Oh yeah that's right I did!!!!
Kenne Bell 2.1L Big Bore Intercooled S/C,Stage II heads and Stage II blower cams!!!

Silly me

I will also have an almost complete 1.7L KB kit ( non intercooled) for sale in the very near future,
so if your interested .......let me know!!!!

Outlaw 02-09-2007 06:05 PM

Kb all the way. Big power jump right off, then save your money and slowing put the boost up once you have the new motor ready... LOL
