Winter Mustang Driving, are you doing it?

Who is?

I have never driven my mustangs in the snow and I am not sure I dare to do it. I know how great my foxes are in the rain :p

rk122075 12-22-2008 03:50 PM

It's only a car, I figure let er dangle, SNOW TIRES, Eibach pro kit and 4.10s FTW! HAHA

Stang Illusions 5.0L 12-22-2008 03:50 PM

OMG mine don't ever see snow since I have owned it.
The only thing it see's is darkness and the warmth lol

I couldn't even imagine the car in snow, i'd be dead.

4:10s in the snow.. damn, that is hardcore.

herbz 12-22-2008 03:54 PM

The only snow ours ever see's is when we open the garage door to drive the trucks in. I don't think it would get around too well if we did drive it.

gfong 12-22-2008 04:31 PM

Put away until May! Miss it already!

dohp 12-22-2008 07:50 PM

park'er in the heated shed with all the other toys (not my toys) and drive the cherokee all winter, only time i got stuck was last winter in dad's wheat field :)

Cheekie 12-22-2008 09:06 PM

I'm out in victoria so we dont get alot of snow usually, right now we have 2ft or so in my front yard. So no for now, but other wise if we were to get our usuall dusting of snow I would drive it.

Crafty 12-22-2008 09:56 PM

man i was scared to hell of driving my stang in the snow... sure enough i got hit a week before it dumped.. I try my best to not drive it.... going to kelowna on the 29th by bus to pick up my AWD talon from storage:tup the ultimate winter/off road car:chacha:

2tone 12-22-2008 10:02 PM

Talons are great cars for winter. And they are super comfortable.

i know! it's amazing really.. spent about $700 on winter tires last year for the damn thing when i was out east in Quebec, loved that, it ziped around like nothing!, and for space it's not bad at all, i'm a taller guy (6'3") and i still fit in mine. non-sunroof and entry level MOMO racing seats might help with that tho... mine's the ultimate sleeper really.. looks old and got a few nicks, but i'm 284HP out of a 2.3L 4G63T stroker, shep tranny, and EVO3 big 16G turbo at 24psi right now... plus a few extras..
These cars are cheap people, and so easy to modify... GET ONE!!! lol i prob only have 5k into it.. and it'll smoke by most mustangs.. (but not all.. still fallin behind the FI guys:tup)

DEAD SERIOUS! :chacha:

mustangguy87 12-24-2008 10:46 AM

I put my convertible away for the winter and drive my 90 LX hatch 5.0L all winter.

roddy 12-27-2008 06:52 PM

My Mustang is more of a 3 season car, as long as there is no salt on the road, I drive it. I have a '95 Civic coupe for the winter.

SNAKETAMER 12-27-2008 11:11 PM

Nope!!!!!!!!

j2stang 12-28-2008 10:08 AM

ahh...the ever elusive V6 fox

mach1charly 01-13-2009 08:06 AM

Storage from end of October until April....315/35/17's are not a streetable tire in Ontario:wink:

caper 01-13-2009 10:44 AM

No winter driving for my stang, I plan on keeping it for quite awhile. The winter conditions here in Cape Breton are not the best and lots of salt.

Snake 01-13-2009 12:09 PM

81 mustang coupe is the winter car and the 88 Mustang is the summer car.

1low03gt 01-13-2009 08:07 PM

I bought my '03 GT brand new with the intention to keep to the bitter end,so no snow driving for this one. That's what the daily family driver is for.:)

ahhh one of them ehhh?

White97 01-14-2009 07:29 AM

I was driving the V6 through this winter until the thing died on me.

The Cobra would just be suicide.

dohp 01-14-2009 08:50 AM

i drove my mustang home from work last fall/winter the day it got parked, it snowed about a foot, drove home on 275/45/17's BFG G-Force Sports, it turned my 20 minute drive into a 2.5 hours drive, it wasn't pleasent, at that point i vowed to never drive a 2 wheel drive vehicle in the winter, 4x4 is the way to go

HyperGT 01-14-2009 11:42 AM

Driving my 06GT Vert all year round. Just put nice rims and snows on it and no issues. Little cold today though.

johnny5 01-14-2009 06:43 PM

Come next winter when I get my G2 i'll be driving mine all year round. can't afford another car, so stuck with the stang in the snow

I'm sure you can pick up a $100.00 car some were....
Besides $100.00 cars are the best if you run into something, or someone opens there door and hits your car who cares :wiggle:

dohp 01-14-2009 09:40 PM

^^ indeed, wreck into a sign and mangle the front bumper, zip tie it on, it's just a winter beater... spring time sell it for scrap, don't even have to store it
