I live in London, Ontario and everyone here is telling me not to run my 2012 V6 in the winter even with snow tires. Not sure what to believe but we had way too much snow for the Mustang last 2 years so snow tires wouldn't have made much difference.

Main problem that you might run in to is simply the ride height of the car. Deep unplowed roads can be an issue with the car almost floating on top of the snow. Used to get that the odd time with deep snow in my lowered T-Bird Super Coupe.

The rear wheel issue shouldn't be a big deal I agree - my first car was an 87 Chevette with RW drive. Never got stuck. The clearance would be an issue - last year we had two storms with snow up to the grill of my wife's Flex. Still looking for a beater of a truck to deal with that possibility.

I don't think a Mustang has much less clearance than most cars really. I see alot of people running Focus' and Fusions and they don't really have any issues. There are also some people here who drive their Mustangs year round and we have no shortage of snow.
