Finally got a Mustang

20 Attachment(s)
Finally got a Mustang of my own 2007 Mustang GT Convertible. I learnt to drive on a 1965 Mustang coupe with just over 500 hp. Picked this one up on Nov 4 and then put it into storage on Nov 13 can't wait till I can drive it.

Looks good. But would look better with a few stripes to offset the black. Your first mod should be to get some hood struts that way you can get rid of the hood prop rod.

Apocalypse Pony 12-23-2016 02:55 PM

Congrats and welcome, +1 to what Ray said, hood struts should be the first mod on any S197, super easy to do and pretty in-expensive as far as mods go.

Welcome to CMOC, One of the first things I would do is lose the snow tires. Nice ride.

Satsys 12-24-2016 03:21 AM

Thanks for the info I have a few extras to put on when it comes out of storage, Ford Racing Mufflers M5230S, JLT SERIES 3 COLD AIR INTAKE, Sequential Tail Light Harnesses and Hood & Side Scoops.

The snow tires have been removed.

Satsys 12-24-2016 03:45 AM

Thanks for the info I will check out the hood struts

Thanks, mine is in storage as well at the fair grounds on Sidney street.

Welcome! I am also from the Belleville area. When spring comes, there is a weekly "Mustang meet" Friday evenings at Panera on Belle Boulevard. If you see us out, stop by.

Hi the 65 Mustang was my neighbour’s as I was only 12 and he taught me to drive as he was like a big brother to me. I was over at his house all the time and help work on the car. The Mustang started with a 289 - 271 hp we ported and polished and cc the heads, it had a 514 lift crane cam, headers and cross ram intake with 2 Holley 750 cfm carbs. We had to cut a hole in the hood for the 2 carb to fit through. It was dynasty green with 2 white strips over the car that we painted.

Some members have mods they no longer use and or extra parts. For example I have two extra pair of tail lights for the 05-09 series. One set of tail lights is the oem set and the other is an Altezza set. I will also be removing my American Car Craft engine caps and will be replacing them with Pirate Caps. Oops I almost forgot one set of oem headlights and a stock stereo from an 05 4.0L.

So if you need a specific part make a shout out to the members of CMOC. I agree with you that the Canadian Peso sucks against the American. Shipping charges are just as painful.

Ebay.ca is a good source for parts and are reasonably priced considering the exchange rate. The key to using Ebay.ca is to make sure the seller is part of the Global Shipping program. You can also find dress up items and parts on Amazon.ca. The only time I use American Muscle, LMR, CJ Pony Parts or other venders is if I need a specific item I cannot find on Ebay or Amazon.

Just some food for thought to drive your passion and wallet.

Waiting for the first headlight upgrade comment......nope, nothing wrong here. :D

On topic...hey OP, check through the Ford Performance catalogue, I've had instances where my parts guy has matched or beaten US prices.

You buy Canadian essentially, support local business and get factory worthy goodies without worrying about customs fees etc.

I'll buy Ford Performance from my parts guy over dealing with US companies any day. (Some come to mind right out of the gate, something about shipping UPS with no brokerage paperwork, but thats another story)

This is weird. AM have always been straight up good in with quantity of supplies, shipping, and issues. Was the install done properly? Just asking?!

I've never really heard any complaints about AM.

I have two sets of tail light housing available. One set is already pre-wired and the other is not but is the original oem style. $100.00 for either pair plus shipping.

Yeah; i ordered the Raxiom sequential taillight harnesses, & both harnesses flicker, & one is cracked; Alex from AM was going to help me, then he vanished.
I phoned & emailed AM & they never answered me back :(

I think Ray has you covered, looks like he's got tail lights. I've got nothing kicking around but keep an eye on the for sale section. There's bound to be a few new members signing up to sell stuff anytime now.

Yeah, I was the first, but, as soon as I mentioned it, everyone else started complaining too...
