Snakebite I have to agree...the penalties for speeding are getting to steep! Impound and possible action of the vehicle if speed is excessive! Thinking of indexing crank gear so as to be quick off the line instead of top end speed...I'd hate to loose our ride! Just my 2 cents. Welcome to cmoc Taurus8! There you are - proof positive that I landed in the right forum! I'm 47, went through my wilder 20's with my dad's cars (he always wondered why we went through a set of tires in 1 year when I was 18 )

All I really need now is half-decent power to merge into the freeway, and enough horses and handling to make the Coquihalla Hwy entertaining which many cars will do for me, if I'm honest.

But ever since I was driven to elementary school in a '65 convertible...non GT, V8, grey, bench seat, automatic... I've always wanted one. I remember one day just sitting in the back of that car, mesmerized, looking over every inch of the dash and looking back at my uncle's '72 LTD and not getting why he and my father didn't have a car like this instead.

(Unfortunately that Mustang was dealt in in 1973 for a *GASP* new Chevy Vega!) Even then, at 9 years old I knew my neighbour had made a BIG mistake.
