I've never really pushed this car other than in a straight line, so tonight I went out to an empty parking lot after it finished raining, turned the traction control off and practiced a few high speed left and rights.
Turns out my tires keep very good traction, even on wet surfaces.
3 days till track day.
Tomorrow I'm buying a helmet.

First track day!
Warm sunny day, very few cars showed up. There were only about 4 other cars there in the morning. A red Porsche 944 race car that the owners were still working on. They said they had put a new motor in it and were breaking it in. There was a black Nissan 350Z. This guy had obviously done some track driving before and was a blast to try to follow around the track. Unfortunately around mid-day as I was about a turn behind him he spun out and ended up stuck in some very swampy grass. He got out eventually, washed off the car and was back out there.
There were two VW golfs, one black with some weird lighting covers that was pretty quick, and a grey zipcar.
Later on in the day a pair of BMWs showed up, one black and one grey. They were driven pretty well and looked like a hot knife in butter through the twists.
A young guy in a Nissan Skyline showed up in the afternoon. He had a lot of trouble keeping it on the track, spun out four times in ONE LAP! On the straight away you could tell when the turbo kicked in because his car would swerve slightly. Looked like it would be fun to drive.
Waiting to go out!
Being chased by a 350z.

All kinds of cars showed up
Chased by bimmers.

It would be a blast to have more 'stangs out there racing around the track.
It's pretty reasonable price wise. See price list. $130 for the whole day or $60 for an evening (5 pm to dark).
If someone was feeling really adventurous they could rent the track for the day, but that would drive to cost up. IOf
