I apologize for the delay..work, etc.
The day started off cloudy, then the skies opened up about 11 am for 45 minutes. Wet laps...very interesting in a stang. Left the traction control on, and it was still scary. A porsche 911 turbo managed to spin out in the rain.
The sun came back out and dried the track off. The g/f did the camera work, and neglected to take pix of the other vehicles
Great turnout, maybe 30+ cars driving, another 50+ just there.
A few highlights were the green lotus exige. About 10 Porsches. One super porsche that made the 911's look like they were standing still. He passed me once on the straight and it sounded like a fighter jet taking off. Breathtaking.
About 5 bmw 335i's (maybe a club). A Dodge Neon (whatever the "ss" version is) was screaming around the track. A well driven 335i was unable to catch up.
A Subaru STI showed up and was driven very well.
A yahoo in his dad's s4 should have died many times over but was saved by his dad's car's technology. He'd scream past people on the straight, but not cut back over, and drive at the turn, or go way too fast into other turns and end up sliding sideways towards other cars. What an ***.
My buddy (04 gt) who has lowering springs managed much better traction around the bends then I did. HUGE difference. I just got my springs done today, so I can't wait. May 21st, here i COME.
The day's real lesson came when we were following a white 911 around the track. He turned his 4-ways on, and we couldn't figure out why. He was going through the turns at the same speed as he was on the straights. Eventually, he pulled way over, slowed right down and waved us by. The whole time he was trying to let us pass and we couldn't even keep up with his cool down laps. Impressive vehicle.
I've also got in car video, but youtube takes out my music, and it's not nearly as exciting without music.
