TMP results... what DID you run today? Halloween Sunday
I was pleased with my results
Best street tire run was 12.625@116.52 mph with 1/8 mile mph at 91.53 My best drag radial run (thank yo Clint for letting me use your DR's) was 11.795@118.59mph Me=very happy! BTW Clint i am very impressed with your ride. You ran GREAT today@#! I'll let you post your #'s but i think you are GTAMC's fastest now. All that in a fully legal Mustang (wipers, plated insured and radial tires). Very cool. Plus this is running LOW boost compared to what your other pully put out (16 psi vs 30). All this with no tuning either! Seesh! So cool! oh ya... guess its time to update my signature now :) |
Very nice runs. Any pictures or video?
|
Very, very nice times.
What combo is your buddy running? |
Wow Joe! Thats great for the Setup you have. Its totally a street car and runs those times! What were your 60' times on those runs? I need to get a blower on the Cobra! I want to run 12's first N/A though.
|
DAMN Joe, thats impressive, I bet with some tuning you may hit low 11's or possibly 10's, I know your car runs fine now, but with tuning I bet you could pick up some serious power.

Yeah, tuning probably would net some more ponies. I haven't tuned it at all really. Just played with timeing a bit. Heck, the fpr is still the stock unit. |
N/a

your car must be slow on the motor,if you think N/A sucks :Weird: Blowers are easy horsepower, anyone can make power N/A will always be more impressive, just more expensive(at first) |

I love it that N/A guys think like that. they are always the easy ones to beat. Can't have everybody blown, that would step up the bar into a different league. Let me Make my reasons clear for saying N/A sucks. it costs more to build a stout combo that can rev very high safely. High power N/A usually takes away from fuel economy, and driveability. Shoot i gotta go to work. Either way, boosted is great. i don't ever want to go n/a again. costs more to make the same amount of hp as a boosted app and driveability suffers. bye |
What did clin run? He beat Tim culp's 9.80? Very cool if he did.
BTW GTAMC is not up because we have to move to a dedicated server. We getting too big and it killer the internet hosts server. |

Shared hosting services, especially cheap ones, will put 3000-4000 sites onto one box. The max should be 300-400. A dedicated server is really only like 100 a month for 500gb/month of bandwidth.
They keep going with the wrong technology partner. |
yeah they only had 8 mb of ram dedicated ot us. New server will have one gig for us according to Khaine.
|
Ouch.
A dedicated server is overkill for something like the GTAMC and it's quite expensive. A reliable shared hosting provider would be just as good and much cheaper. But hey, that's just my $0.02 :) |

As docile as can be and friggin' insane when he's on it. The sad part is it's tuned very, very conservativley and about 5-6psi short of the the goal during the build. It'll be 8 second potential for sure, definitely a sleeper if you as me. Looks like and 11 second car and other than the whistle from the Novi it doesn't sound like it's making 800hp. LOL! |

Sucks its down, one less place for me to be selling my stuff on  |
Clint has done an amazing job on his car. All his hard work has paid off by looking great and going very fast. Here is a pic from 1999 of my 91mgt and Clint's car.
http://home.cogeco.ca/~samdogg11/91mgt/joe-clint.jpg here is a pic of his car now. (mine's in the background) http://home.cogeco.ca/~samdogg11/cay...-clint-joe.jpg now thats what i am talking about. |
maybe i should start a thread of Before and After. then we could post pics of our cars when we got it, and how she sits now. :)

Ryan, something to consider for the future is bypass these hosting companies and become a hosting reseller yourself.
For $145/year the GTAMC could have 15GB of disk space and 150gb of bandwidth which costs a ton less than any hosting company can offer and maybe you can sell off small hosting packages to other people. My company has been dealing with hosting resellers for years. Eliminate the middle man and become one yourself. Saves a ton of cash :tup |
Any personal beefs, past or present, that anyone may have with eachother should be taken up in person or in private. This is not the place. :)

glad to see this is back open again.
Clint's grey beast has a NEW best as of today... 9.42 @ 148.48mph that is utterly amazing... and driven to the track too - about 1 hour away. here is a pic (from tc89lx) In the near lane is Clint and in the spectator side is tc89lx - gtamc and cmoc's fastest members... http://www.mustangmods.com/data/86/tmp.jpg and here's one with Tim's wheels up on a 9 second pass.... http://www.mustangmods.com/data/86/tmp_18.jpg |

Joe, those pics were taken by Rick (MTO502) and he was nice enough to send them my way.

Silly Joe, the guy from Newfoundland IS the GTAMC's fastest. Check your facts before making rediculous claims like that. :p

oh, i was just going off the clubs board, sorry bout that. :bang car is still sick Tim :tup |
Ok, then he's CMOC's fastest as soon as he joins!
|
Tim, dont you hate it when someone is faster than you? lol.. I was hoping to be one of the faster guys around. I have been building a car for 2 years and finally its almost done and everyone fast is about 1/2 a second quicker.
Damn you and your nitrous! I am going to start having to sell my body and get a Dart block ...umm this might take a while.... :bang |
Honestly I love it! Competition is good and it's always great when it's between friends....it keeps me on my toes. In the past few years mine has turned into a more purpose built car (OSCA index racer) so I'm pleased where I'm at. I would like to get it a bit quicker though and try and step up a class, but if it doesn't happen I'm not disappointed.

Beatiful car ! Dod you re sheetmetal over the walls of fill on the holes? i was thinking about doing the same thing/ Suggestions? |
Ryan, they are fabricated sheetmetal panels welded over the factory inner aprons. It was easier to completely smooth and cover the panels rather than weld up each and every individual hole. I think it looks slick myself, Clint did a great job with it!

What gauge steel should I use? I also have to fit some 3" tubing though there. Hmm and I have to relocate my MSD, boost retard, coil, , wires are already moved.... all well I have all winter. |
Yup, the firewall holes were welded up, not covered like the forward sections of the aprons. The strut tower holes were also welded up and smoothed out.
Steel, 18ga would work nicely and be pretty strong but 20-22ga would be easier to form. Since it's mainly cosmetic and the structure is still in behind it probably wouldn't be too big of a deal to go with the lighter steel. |

When in doubt, go thicker. It'll weld easier anyways, just a bit trickier to form.
