It's not so much about going fast...I prefer acceleration over outright speed. I've wanted more rear end gear for some time, but the 3.74 1st gear in the old trans would have been useless with more than the 3.55s I have now. Also, I don't spend much time on highways (like the 400 series) that have a 100km/hr limit, so adding more rear gear will allow me to make use of 5th while cruising country roads at 80-90 km/hr.
