I got 5 saying it was probly just the starter.

Every year I take my fuel pump fuse out and roll it over a few times to get the oil up and around....then I plug it back in and fire her up. Mine is a ***** to get it going, need more time tuning the ISC settings in my TwEECer! Hope to soon get the bugs out!

Ya, I would say the starter drive stayed engaged with the ring gear - makes one hell of a racket.

Ya eather the starter or battery was low from cold??Weird thou cause i went to start it one day it was minus 18 and started right up????Who knows im happy almost took it out today but shes still dirty out and a bit coldLOL

I had my air pump seize up one year it made a hell of a noise. Took it apart soaked it in penetrating oil got er going. 10 years later still O.K.

ya its either the fuel pump or disconect the coil on my 95 , turn her over a couple of time to prime the lifters and the crank bearings ,cam bearings ect. oil is your friend. just starting it up with out pre oiling is just asking for motor problems. actually even my way im still doing a little damage .the best absolut way is to pull the distributor , and turn the oil pump with out even cranking the motor. i think you can buy the special tool for it , wich i think im going to do this year. with the money ive got into this now the last thing i need to do is spin a bearing.
