That video with the guy trying to shift gears with the car at an idle is a joke, and I'm guessing he screwed the clutch up somehow. Some people really should have auto's. Anyway, I have never personally met anyone with the tranny problem, but know tons of people with '11 and '12 Stangs, that don't have the problem, and some that are running some big power, so until I have issues, I'm not convinced it's a big deal at all.

That's the spirit. I'm glad to hear you feel better about it now.

Yeah unless I have trouble with mine, I'm not worried about it, and it's not like I drive mine hard anyhow.

that's the spirit. One day we should have a slow speed race and I have no doubt I WOULD WIN lol^^^^^

It would have to be a very slow race, I haven't even broke in the engine yet. :D

I just wanted to post an update on this "so called" issue. Here is a link with Fords response to the NHTSA's investigation, and it's quite interesting to point out that all the issues brought to Fords attention equals only 3% of the Mustangs produced and sold. Anyway, with as much driving as I can possibly do, I now have a little more than 5,000 kms on my 2012 and although I don't bag the crap out of my car, I have taken her out and ran through the gears at a pretty good pace the odd time, and I haven't experienced any problems what so ever. Sometimes when it's cold you can certainly feel a bit of difference from 1st to 2nd, but no grinding or blown shifts, or getting stuck in a gear. To be honest, I absolutely love the way my car shifts.

I agree and am happy with my trans so far. It's only got 2900km but so far so good. PS I think you posted the wrong link.

Woops...good catch. All fixed up now.

six speed

I'm a little late to the game here but I just purchased anew 2013 gt with the six speed manual and yeah I was concerned about the shifting issues but now that I have gotten used to the notchiness it's not really that bad as long as you don't rush the shifting, but has anyone out there put in a short throw shifter from barton, hurst or especially the new one from ford racing and has it made any difference. One thing I'm a 53 year old guy and I really don't drive like I used to which means I'm not driving like a complete lunatic ok ok ok just a lunatic.

I've rushed the shifting several times with mine and have had no issues or blown shifts. I've got a Barton shifter and a 2 post bracket which I will be installing fairly soon. I believe the Ford Racing shifter is built by Barton.
