quad shock with 275's

Hi all
I recently installed 17" x 10" rear wheels on my 87 coupe and i had to remove the quad shock for them to fit.
has anyone else run into this problem? is there a way to keep the quad shock with this size wheel?

Sometimes if you flip the quad shocks end for end, that will give enough clearance.

cheers

I thought about that while I was trying to install the wheels, it will be really close and i'd have to remove the boot on the shock.
If the wheel will turn freely on the hoist will I have clearance while driving ie: suspention travel?

Why do you want to keep the quad shocks ? Still running stock suspension or for wheel hop issues ? Just askin .

Yes im still running stock suspention and it feels too soft in the rear, I was told to keep the quad shock because the single shocks were inadequate

Nope ! Thats why we are all here to ask n learn and to help sometimes . How many Kms on said stock suspension ? Might be time to look at new (lowering ?? ) springs and shocks n struts . Lots of price points out there to satisfy .
One more thing Dre , got frame connectors in there ? That could be the soft feeling in your rear .

Just thinking .

I have 166,000kms on the car, no frame connectors but i put new shocks in the rear.
I havent put connectors in because i was under the impression that with a stock motor it was not needed?

I got frame connectors the first day I got my 5.0 in my car
