Short Throw Shifters
Hey;
Just wondering what the best aftermarket short throw shifter is out there? I was looking at HURST but cannot find any online? Anyways, let me know what some of you have and if you would recommend or not... Thanks!:) 2004 GT |
In my 03 Mach I have used a Pro 5 and now have a MGW, both are about the same which is good. Nice shifting and no issues. Most people say that MGW is better and that is why I switched the Pro 5 out but I can not tell the difference between the 2 of them!

i'm currently running a steeda tri-ax short throw, on my v6 and i was quite happy with that one, so i'm getting another steeda tri-ax for my 99 4.6L
i love it, haven't missed a shift yet |

So basically what I am hearing is that Pro 5, Steeda, and MGW seem to be great shifters and really cant go wrong with any of the 3...problem free..No complaints?...
And has anyone ever tried the Hurst in a mustang?... Any other tips I should know? Thanks Everyone! |

Hurst seems to be a good one also. Over at some other sites I have read some good reviews on them. Here is a pic of one in a Mach. If you want retro this is the one to get for sure. Here is a pic of my MGW with a Hurst ball and button for the line lock.

personally i would stay away from pro 5.0. i busted mine three friggin times at the track. i think IMO they are junk.

Does anyone know where I can purchase HURST products?
I personally LOVE the look of that shifter in the above pic...The white knob, chrome stick and the boot are sweet... |
