Transmission Rebuild?

Hey guys,

My transmission is shifting rough into 3rd and 4th gears and has been getting stuck in fouth gear...I'm trying to decide if it would be better to get it rebuilt or to invest in another tranny altogether...any suggestions?

T5? I had mine rebuild for a decent coin by a local guy. Definitely cost a lot less than a new transmission. Won't know how it works until I put some miles on it, but if you can get a good rebuild done for less than the cost of a new transmission, I don't see why you shouldn't jump on it.

What kind of car is it? what trans, what kind of driving do you do?
If it still shifts and depending on what kind of trans it is, you can usually do a fluid change with some good fluid (GM syncromesh-I think that's the name, Royal Purple, amsoil, etc....) and prolong it's life a bit. If it's a race car or sees rough driving you're better to get a new unit or do a rebuild with better parts.

I agree try some good quality fluids first and do transmission service and see if that helps at all first..
