IMHO on a 98 GT a PI head swap would be of more benifit right now than a blower would. do PI heads.............then a KB. my buddy has a 99GT with a 1.6 KB and he is running 12ohs at a very regular rate.

x2 on the PI swap first.

KB is good, but have heard they are heat monsters too (even intercooled) but they do have good low end torque. Plus the sound of a KB is undeniable cream in your pants hot!

If I was going centrifugal blower....Vortech S Trim, Procharger P1sc, Novi2000.

You can get kits that have everything included in them.

IMO....if you're thinking about a blower install.....and you're thinking $3500.....not sure about that....maybe if you buy everything used and do the install yourself

new Vortec kits are what? $3800 US....+ exchange, shipping, taxes.....so call it $5k.....plus another $200ish for a fuel pump.....shop install costs are usually around $1000......so you're over 6k.....if you want polished....add another grand

and don't forget about budgeting for dyno time and tune....it's not free or cheap.....FP and boost gauges aren't a must....but it's nice to see what's going on - and that's a few more bucks

it's not difficult to hit $10K on a blower install

FWIW...stock (with a catted X, Borla catback, an drop in K+N) my car put down 223rwhp....with a 1.7l KB at 6psi...we're putting down 348rwhp

and yeah...you can feel an extra 125 at the wheels

3k for a vortech tuner kit, no injectors, no maf, no fuel pump, no tune.

You can find the rest of the stuff for approximately 500 bucks used.

i have found several S/C with feul pump, MAF, injectors and all the stuffyou need for 2.8K and under shipped.
2.8k(US)= 3,165.12 CAN
this is just not one deal i happen to stumble across. i have found at least 5 in the past 3 weeks of searching for a S/Cer.

now on top of that, you will still PROBALLY need a tune, and depending how mechanicly inclined you are, you might need it installed...

im sure if you were the right person, you could buy everything and install it for around 3K.waiting for teh perfect deal for everything.

If your going SC save some money and don't do the whole PI kit. The PI kit will raise your compression to 10 to 1 which is not ideal for a SC'd engine. If you go centrifical, look into a PI Intake, the non-PI intakes are very restrictive. If you need one I have 1 in my garage.
